I'm not sure what causing this sound but at low speed turns I'll get a whining noise from what I believe is the drive train/brakes??? It gets louder when I steer the wheel more and it does not occur when I steer the car at a stop. Above 20-25 it goes away. The front wheels spin freely and without any type of grinding noises. I have no idea if it's traction control related. The TCL isn't engaged either when these noises occur.

BTW Does anyone know how to turn the TCL off?

Check your power steering fluid. If it's low, the pump will make a whining noise when you turn the steering wheel.

The fluid will overheat.

"A sure way to diagonise a faulty CV joint would be to take a U turn at a reasonable speed ( about 20kmph) if there is a clicking or crackling noise heard from the suspension in most cases the joint would require replacement. Also there would be a metallic noise on sudden accleration and deaccleration, if the joint is faulty."

get it checked.
