I just had 3" Injen cb put on my car, and it drives me nuts. It's an over the axle system, and a pretty tight fit. The problem is, whenever I go over a bump or I drive on a bad road (yey for SC) the exhaust makes just enough side to side play to either bang on the fuel tank or it hits something on the other side.
I already spent a fortune on having this installed, and the only shop doing tigs here is charging an arm and leg. So before I go any further, I'd like to get some input on this:
1. The OEM rubber hanger bushings (?) are pretty sloppy, did anyone use prothane or similar inserts with succes?
2. Should I use exhaust wrap to cover the problem spots? I'm not sure I would want to do this.
3. Or I have no way out but add more hangers at some wird angles? anybody has some under carriage pics of their setup?

Thanks in advance

im using the stock hanger bushings w/ my evoII cb no problems here, i know some guys wound up cutting a piece of shielding off that they kept hitting with thiers theres pics on here somewhere...prothane ones would definatelly stiffen it up a bit but obviously it would still have some play so depending on what exactly your banging around on they could be effective...get your ass under the car and see for yourself lol

I know exatcly what it's banging on. Your evoII is an under the axle isn't it? The heat shield is a good call, it was rubbing there first, but I already took that out. That's why it's hitting the tank now.

I see them polyurethane hangers on ebay, but if anyone knows other places to find them, please let me know.

it was originally made under however since i had to have it lengthened to fit the g i had it made to go over so it didnt scrape... i would give the poly mounts a shot couldnt hurt and thier easy to install and inexpensive really... also if you have any of those universal type hangers from the shop where it would have been lengthened or something you could always rebend them to tighten them up since they are usually much skinier the the hole...worst case scenario you can get another hanger welded on

also OT but why 3" really dont need it that big for NA? in fact your robbing yourself of a few HP although if F/I is on your mind 3" is ideal

Danger, you are the man, great pics! Mine is arranged differently but they gave me an idea.

Fatal, thanks, and yes, I have FI on my mind. For the meanwhile, I'm slow and loud lol.
