I recently got a set of racing seats. They came from a honda. I was wondering if anyone had a seat adapter kit for a 99 galant ? or know where i can get one ? im not having any luck finding anything.

Basicly the stock galant seats brackets are way wider ( like 5 inches ) and way longer. and these racing slider brackets are not even close to bolting up, i just need a plate that i can bolt down to where the seats used to go to make it all level. With holes that will work. Ill post measurements here tomarrow. i tried jcwhitney.com but they didnt have any on there site.

dont quote me, but from what ive read and what i remember, you will need to fabricate some custom brackets.

I forgot where I read it but I did a search on this same issue before we switched forums, I heard you can use eclipse seat brackets and sliders. I think Megan racing makes them for bucket seat applications.

I found a guy on ebay who made my custom brackets especially for Galants as well as most vehicle applications. Check ebay to see if you can find someone who makes brackets and then email them to see if they can make them for the Galant. It has been several years since I had mine made or I would turn you onto the guy who made mine. Good luck.

yes yolu can use the a/m seat brackets from a 3g eclipse

you can also mod your stock slider by fabbing up brackets for the bolts, obviously this will take some work to get right though

i found this one... But its for a 2000 eclipse, and dont look like the bottoms will bolt up well. But basicly what i need.

yea, thats what i was thinking of doing, But the bottom of the stock seat is contour'd upwards, and has all these bars and what not. And the bucket seats are flat on the bottom.

Basicly my holes on the racing seats are 11 inches in length, and 13 1/2 inches in width, and the galant stock seats brackets are 16 inches in length and width . And the bottom bracket is 1/4 - 1/2 inch lower than the front bracket. Hrm. Im thinking of trying to take off my stock sliders, but i dont wanna be out a seat in the end. Or have a broken slider.

possibly get a flat chunk of steel 5 inches wide ? and use a buncha washers to stack it so u can bolt it down tight, then drill the holes at 11 inches and mount the racing seat.

What are you doing for harnesses? Or are you just using the stock seat belts?

Well i custom made my own seat brackets. but due to saftey issues, and the seats are to wide on the top, i decided to keep the stock seats in, i wouldnt want something to happen, better safe than sorry. I tried, But the bracket were 5 inches shorter, so it was huge steel plates that i needed, and the sliders worked, but it was more just plain saftey, So ya, stock seats are fine ;) i need to re-apohloster them in leather.

if you weld everything up or use grade 8 hardware you have nothing to worry about safet wise. The stock seat brackets are just mig welded and bolted to the floor with 2 grade 8 bolts and 2 nuts. I use a set of 3g brackets in my car, while they do bolt up, the 3g floor pan is lower than ours where the seat mounts so even at the lowest setting the seat sits way high in the 8g. I got them from ebay for like $300 shipped for a pair of brackets.
