Try and find a white door at your local junk yard.. The rear door is untouched.. Just some detail and those scuffs should come off..

actually sadly theres a small indent right near the front door. Not TOO noticeable, but I'm still pissed. It was parked in the student resident parking lot (hence why I say the people were probably drunk). No cameras unfortunately

Sorry about the mishap Adrian. I am not looking forward to parking at the UTi lot this coming semester. Hence why I will prolly take public transportation instead. Hope you find the asshole and hit him with a hammer sharp end to the eye! lol.

Sorry to see that, but remove the door panel and try to push out as much as possible until you can replace it.

I also know that some of the paint less dent repair shops do really well.

Dude that totally sucks! I know how it feels! christmas 07 I was at a K-mart parked my 99 VR4 in the rear and when I came out my marker light was busted and that light alone was almost 200$

the closest passenger side front doors to here are like 100 miles away, and places want like $200 +

ugh this is so annoying

Yeah parking at college sucks, my car has so many dents scrapes and dings and of course no cameras for the SUV that dented my hood. All I can do is fix it when I get the chance and I will also be driving a daily as JDM parts will be going on soon.

If you love your car, as most of us do, I would say park as far away from college as possible. It sucks at comm college.

exactly. I actually park very far in the parking lot and my friends get pissed at me cause I make them walk really far LOL. It just so happens that I was on an end spot where it was easy to get T-boned I guess. I didn't even realize this until after this incident, of course *eye roll

and thanks for the advise Emerson. Unfortunately I don't have the time or funds to really pay for this right now. I still have a dent on my driver's side door too actually, from when I got T-boned in November 2008. The guy gave me money to fix it, but I ended up using it for the 5 speed swap.

My dad made a good point about waiting to fix that dent: its going to get dinged up no matter what. Especially in college.

Jigz, there's not very many options for junkyards/pick n pulls here I don't think. I need to do some searching around though

Yeah I got my door hit from parking on the end SMH. I learned my lesson too. They are alot of "Pick-Ur-Parts" in the Valley, check around. And there is one in Santa Fe Springs that I go to quite often, the name of the yard is ECOLOGY AUTO PARTS. They have a number of yards in SoCal. Google them and look up their locations.

Thanks Will. I'm a little far from Socal right now so I'll have to deal with this damn dent for the time being.

And Jeffylou, we don't have that problem here! 73 degrees and a little breezy :)

How were you able to wait that long? I was fairly spirited the night it was completed :)

beam514
03-10-2010, 08:16 PM
well I wanted to wait for the clutch to break in, so that took quite some time since I'm in college and only really drive the car once a week. It was well beyond broken in by the time I drove it on Monday, but I just never got around to finding some nice streets to do some spirited driving on :)

M-Rod
03-10-2010, 08:24 PM
Oh yeah, that's right! I forgot about the new clutch. Didn't even think of that since I re-used the original until I disassemble everything again.

for sure Emerson, I really want to do some mountain roads and have a nice group drive some day.
Jeffylou, I don't really even know how to describe this car right now. This is my first time driving manual and I still have trouble sometimes, but it's a lot of fun and makes the car feel a whole lot faster. lol

but anyway.. get that 6G74 in there! NOWWWW! hahaha
Oh and I can't believe I haven't posted any pics from the 5 speed swap yet. I'll do that tomorrow.

took the car on a long canyon drive for a mini socal3g meet. SOOOO fun but I need more grip. The road that we were on was pretty slick so I could hear the tires squealing on every corner and could feel how loose it was. Almost had some pretty scary slides haha

yea.. well these will do for now. I mean I had control of the car, so its fine. That road just happened to be super smooth (that really old, but super smooth and gray asphault). The last portion we ran wasn't as smooth and worked out just fine

Just got back from my first year in college.. WOOOOOO

anyway, I'm gonna take a short little break to relax (I'm wayyy pooped after my recent finals and stuff), and then I'm hopefully get some small things done with the car:

remove Cruise Control unit and its accessories in the bay (I can't use it anymore anyway)
really really simple injector wire and vacuum hose tuck

etc.
then once I get some sort of income, it's on to the bigger stuff

I just gave the car a much needed bath, so pics tomorrow

so the paint on my grill finally cracked. So I decided to recoat it with some Plastidip and to paint the radiator support

oh and I didn't paint the lower/whole radiator support because I couldn't get the damn bumper off... stupid plastic screws

M-Rod
06-24-2010, 05:08 PM
looks way better! And the bumper comes off with 6 bolts ;) 2 under each fender and 2 behind the grille on the radiator support.

beam514
06-24-2010, 09:57 PM
what?! that's what I thought but then I saw all the plastic screws and they just wouldn't budge. So I don't even have to touch those plastic screws to remove it? If so, I'm removing the bumper and painting the entire rad support this weekend. I hate the rusty white behind the lower grill. Oh and I still have the PS cooling hose stuck behind the bumper

E_Emerson88

when i took off my bumper most of those screws were stripping so i decided to saw them right off with a big ass knife haha

beam514
06-25-2010, 03:51 AM
wait so I do or don't have to take out those plastic screws? There's like 6-8 on top of the bumper, then there are two underneath where the bottom opening is. I tried taking one of those out and it unscrewed like 1/2 turn then it just started stripping so I was like F*** This! haha

M-Rod
06-25-2010, 07:12 AM
you don't have to mess with the plastic screws on top. They stay attached to the bumper support.

beam514
06-27-2010, 03:48 PM
ahhh I just looked again and the plastic screws on the bottom attach to the crash bar.. and those were the ones where I gave up lol. Awkward position to unscrew them behind the lower grill. I'm just gonna forget painting the lower radiator support for the time being haha

4g63lover
06-27-2010, 08:45 PM
you just need to remove the two bolts in the grille area, and 2 bolts that bolt to the fender on each side and it'll pop off along with the bumper cover bracket.

beam514

here's a pic of the supposed Galant Cyber (dunno if 1 or 2) skirts. They are wayy too big and hopefully the company that sold them will take them back tomorrow. They are definitely not Galant skirts, as I looked at other people's skirts and the shape is somewhat different. Not to mention that fact that these skirts BLOCK the door and are over 8 inches too long. There's no way a mold could be that messed up.

For anyone wondering, I'm not sure what visor this is. I bought the last one from the place and it wasn't in the greatest condition. I know for sure that Sponcar had this visor on his 8G. This visor isn't the same "JDM" visor that's on ebay, and it's nowhere near close to the EGR. This thing has some thickness to it.

Lookin good Adrian! If youre in need of a good bodyshop to do some Fiberglass/Paint on your visor and sides for your car, I can recommend you. I went to this shop in Gardena called AutoExplosion where they specialize in custom paint, body work, and kits. They did a great job on my car and their prices are pretty fair. Adrian u need to post some full size pix, not these baby thumbnails! LOL! Even when I click the pic to open in a new window its still tiny!

huh?? haha if you click on the pic, it takes you to my photobucket then you gotta click on the picture to zoom in. That's the largest that photobucket will allow me to upload, cause I'm uploading the raw photo and it's automatically resizing it :P

but typically I post the thumbnails with them set as a direct link, so it doesn't go to the photobucket thingy. It's just when there's a large pool of photos, it takes too long cause I have individually reset the thumbnail code

So I just picked up a "spoon" lip for a 98-01 Integra. I don't have any pics yet, but basically it has the shape of the Type-R lip, with the holes of the Mugen. I don't have the money to get it painted right now, and my bumper looks like shit anyway, so I think I'm just going to mount it. Once I get it fitted, I might cover it in blue tape and a bunch of stickers just for the hell of it.. cause I'm that cool hahahah

I just need "moar low", some nice wheels, and sticker lip for HELLAAFLUSHHHHHH YOOOOOO

haha dang I didn't even know anyone had heard of this lip before. Yeah, I like the lip a lot and I'm excited to mount it. It's polyurethane, not ABS, so mounting it is gonna be a little interesting since it's so flexible.

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7013.jpg

I'm currently in the process of installing it. I'm trying to maintain the "teeth" in the lower grill of the bumper, so I'm cutting notches in the lip to make it fit.

found this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPOON-98-99-00-01-ACURA-INTEGRA-DC2-BUMPER-LIP-SPOILER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4152147144QQitemZ28054 9945668QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries

$73 shipped, not bad, considering I had to drive out of my way a little bit to meet up with the guy
Also, like I said previously, this lip is polyurethane, NOT ABS like a lot of the mugen lip. That makes this lip a lot more flexible and easier to work with. I'm feeling pretty confident with making it flush with the bumper.

Cutting the lip with a knife from a multi-tool. Some parts also required a dremel, but I think I could do the entire lip without a dremel if need be

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7017.jpg
if you want the lip flush at the lower grill, this is how much material to remove + about another 3/4 inch

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7021.jpg
done cutting the center to fit with the lower grill while still maintaining the bar in the bumper

but good news and bad news:
Good news: this lip looked badass when mocked up. I love the shape and leaving it black will really go well with my black and white theme up front (plus I don't have any money to paint it right now)
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7023.jpg
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7024.jpg

Bad news: The holes have quite some surface area behind the lip itself, so they're hitting the bumper lip right under the fog lights. I'm going to have to trim down these holes (which will give it less depth)

shhh Will I'm not talking to you since you didn't show up to the GReddy meet and see Emerson's mom's Lambo! lol

so I'm facing a dilemma:
1) I can cut the hole intakes on the lip itself, making them appear bigger, and then they'll fit with the bumper behind the lip. The hole will appear much wider than it already looks, and you might see the bumper behind the hole

or
2) cut holes in the bumper for the intake hole to fit through the bottom of the bumper

almost looks like stock height! haha jk. The lip is held on with double sided tape on the sides of the bumper and in the lower grill in this pic. The double sided tape helped the lip keep its shape when I was folding the ends in. You can see that the fitment is pristine. With patience, you can pretty much mold this thing to exactly the shape of the bumper.

so it sits lower then the bumper under the fogs by what about 2 inches the same as the mugen lip correct? how low does it hang under the bumper at the middle section beneath that lower grill? cuz the mugen is the same height around while this one is narrower in the middle but by how much.

I do kinda like the idea of mounting it higher and cutting into the bumper for those holes like a vr4 look.

greddy

needs more low, although from the pictures I don't think you need side skirts due to the fact that the lip seems to line up with the OEM sides, and anything you add will make the side of the car look lower, maybe I'm just crazy, although I do like the idea of black skirts if you go with that.

and I already have some skirts sitting in my closet. They're the kind that VegasMatt has, so they're not super low/aggressive looking

The middle section sits about 1 or 2 inches below the bottom front of the bumper. In the rear it kind of slopes up. I would say the "scoops" are maybe 2-3 inches lower, and the sides are pretty much flush with the bottom

so it sits about the same height as the mugen. being polyeurthane it as a bit of flex to it. so if you hit something at around 10-20mph it shouldnt bust. because it looks fairly plyable

my mugen lip was molded on and it is currently 75% missing from hitting random things. Ive been looking at a replacement and this might be it.

just an update:
I've spent enough on visual mods for the time being. Now is when I start transitioning back into performance. Today I ordered the Tactrix 2.0 so I can run the Diamante injectors (finally). We still have a couple months until summer, but I'm already excited for it.

Before this point I was scared to even look at EcuFlash as I knew nothing about coding. After this quarter's classes, I understand more about coding (though it might not exactly be relevant to this). In general though, I've learned a lot. I only worked with Matlab (if any of you know what that is) whereas all this stuff is hexadecimal. But I'll figure it out.

Anyway, for better updates regarding the performance side of this car, click on my sig and it'll take you to Galant Tuners.

yeah the box is quite nice lol. It's a little squished because they sent it in a padded Fedex envelope, but whatever.

Matt, I emailed them earlier today and got a response within an hour an and half saying they would should out the Mitsubishi adapter today. I should receive it within 2-3 business days. I guess they just like email a lot better? lol

oh btw the adapter was an additional $10 to the actual Tactrix 2.0 "cable" itself. It was supposed to come bundled together as a package since I paid that $10 but I guess they forgot.

Check out the back of the box. Very official!! lol

all right wiring guru's, this is for you:

I bought this AEM wideband controller and gauge from Galantfan88 awhile back. In fact I think I bought it last May (brother bought it for my birthday).
This model seems to be really old so I can't find any manuals on it or anything, or any tutorials. The way the wiring is set up is not the same as the new ones out there.

As you can see from this thread, here (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f75/how-install-aem-uego-wideband-210014/), the newer controller is integrated into the gauge itself and it comes with a nice, neat wiring harness. My kit has them separate.

Now, onto my controller. Here is everything that I received from Galantfan88. I don't know why he sent me two controllers and two wideband sensors, but he did. Note that wiring on the left is the same, but is in a different location. ie the O2 sensor wiring is on the bottom, and the gauge wiring on top, whereass the set on the right is just the opposite. I'm going to be using the set on the right as it is cleaner and the pigtails aren't broken.
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/th_IMG_7182.jpg (http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7182.jpg)

This is the set on the right:
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/th_IMG_7177.jpg (http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7177.jpg)

Here is the wiring on the controller that will end up going to the gauge:
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/th_IMG_7184.jpg (http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/?action=view&current=IMG_7184.jpg)
1. orange
2. white
3. brown
4. red
5. black

I'm going to assume that red and black or power obviously.
Now the gauge. The gauge doesn't actually have a connector to attach to the controller, just what appears to be corresponding wires.
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/th_IMG_7181.jpg (http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc141/beam514/Galant%20Photos/IMG_7181.jpg)
the wires are:
orange
brown
white
blue
red
black

Again, I'm assuming red and black are for power. Based on the thread posted above, I'm assuming the white and blue are for datalogging purposes. This leaves me to wonder though.. what connects to the white wire from the controller?

beam514
03-19-2011, 03:27 AM
oh wow, finally found the part number of the controller: 30-2301
so this obviously helped me find some resources. I believe these are the instructions for the gauge that I have:
http://www.jestrtuning.com/temp/30-4xxx-uego-gauges.pdf

the instructions for the controller itself can be found here:
http://www.galanttuners.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=702.0;attach=182

The 2.0 can read the 1999 ECUs. Also, they don't make the 1.3 anymore and the 2.0 is compatible with a lot more stuff.

How u doing bro. Nice pics. I have good and bad bews for the ecu roms. I spend a good amount of time searching and decoding the hex from the rom. For the 99 ecu is only pulling out 128k memory so is not pulling out the load and rpm values. 256k is the right amount. I gues it have to do with the h8 ecu models. That is why it shows a mess up rpm and load values because the xml is pointing to the wrong load and rpm memory locations. We will have to miss and match to see if is there. I will have to check if the ecu is lock.

The good news is that i was able to get or pull out the 02 2.4l galant definition "xml" i will sent it to matt so he could double check the data. Soon i going to tune the ecu.

While it was propped up and i was working on the car, the hood shifted in its mounts ever so slightly (probably about 1mm) and this was enough to make the hole on the hood latch U-bar hit the guide rails on the latch itself. I was freaking taking apart the hood latch thinking it was faulty haha

So to those that buy a Seibon hood: Make sure the hole doesn't hit the rails! haha

And galantman03, no my hood doesn't hit the strut towers. Plenty of room. I believe the Monster style hood is made from a JDM mold though. Don't quote me on that though.

PS: since I finally got the hood situation figured out, I was able to take it for a short test drive. Little did I know that I forgot that I set the rev limiter to 2500 to do a test write a couple weeks ago.. So I get out on the street and hit the rev limit at 2500!! haha I was like WHAT THE HELL. Brain fart moment. I haven't done any extensive testing but at normal cruising and about 70% I am not seeing any signs of Knock.

PPS: Also, my gas door hinge broke, so the door was just dangling. Managed to fix it with some polyurethane and krazy glue lol

yeap, there is a definition file that fits my ROM, and one that fits Deeznuts' ROM. Apparently my definition is nowhere close to his, even though we are both 1999 Cali Spec. Check on Galant Tuners, I posted my definition there. You might be able to use it, just change the rom id.

Im very happy that your deffinition works. Hows your afr's?. And yes dezz and beam roms are a lil different i think it has to do with the production date. Very good that u used the diamante map. I would use everything. Timing. Fuel. Injc scaling. Since u running the entire engine.

yeah I'm just going to do AFR, Timing (done), Injector Scaling (done), and Injector Latency (done). Like Isaurio stated, this is essentially a stock Diamante engine, it even has the stock manifolds and Cats, so these stock maps should be fine for the time being.

Yeah MAF stays out. unless you use the diamante one but it needs re-wire and a whole tuning world. I'm going crazy with the EVO MAF on my stock PCM. It works great but it gets a little of on idle. I have to adjust the timing just a little. But i'm not going to give up. I saw bigggggg improvement with the evo MAF.

but by all mean show us some videos. Also play around with the accel enrichment. use the Diamante one. U will have to adjust it more since you are running the Stock MAF. Also i notice the TPS sensor on my Diamante TB dont like a % below 7. I mean the PCM. I try to put it to 0% and the idle goes nuts and in the auto Trans it will get stuck in first gear. LOL got me scare thinking my trans got F UP. Bean check your evoscan and tell me your TPS reading.

Diamante ROM doesn't appear to have an acceleration enrichment table defined currently.

No, a lot of 2G guys have done this. If they can't find a 482/399 MAS, they will get a 501 MAS, remove the airhorn and use the 482/399 MAS scalar & compensation maps. The Evo MAS flows like 1 lb/min more the Eclipse GTS/Montero 3.5 MAS.

Ohh i see yoy mean the metal honey cone pattern. I put the evo maf and chaned all the maf map to the evos. Works great after a few minutes i see the responce right alway. But after a few min idle drops and afr goes rich and lean. I think i need to adjust more of the timing at idle.

Really do you get a smooth idle or it jumps a little. how about when pedal on WOT. put your foot all the way. i see the PCM is looking for 95 to 99% on the TPS on WOT. i have 7% and is fine at that level but i think is not 100% right. I need to adjust that 100% for tuning reasons. If your tps readings are off it will mess everything in the tune. I will try 12% + more. I found out from factory some tps reads 20% at closed. I was thinking it needs to be at 0% bad idea LOL

how are you adjusting the TPS reading?

EDIT: are you adjusting the function that EvoScan uses to calculate it? currently it is:
TPS = x*100/255

so you're saying to make it:
TPS = x*100/255 + 3

Isaurio
06-17-2011, 01:46 PM
NO dont mess with that. Is manual. adjusting the TPS on the TB. you move it to the left slowly. Open evoscan with engine off and you adjust the TPS and see the % on the evoscan go up and down. small adjustment. Drive the car and see how she feels. If the idle is good no movement than you all good. if is a little jumpy move it back a little.

Cleaning up some wiring. I didn't roll the rear fenders, no need to. The tires just barely clear when the shock is compressed. I don't like the look of rolled fenders for some reason. Makes the car look less sturdy.

Say what you will, but I love these wheels lol. If I could go lower, I would. I live in two pretty hilly areas with the worst driveways though. These Progress springs have nearly the biggest drop for drop springs, but the AGXs raised up the car a bit. 3 finger gap (skinny fingers) up front, 1 finger out back.

EDIT: the gap is now 3 up front, 1 out back. The AGX didn't raise it that much LOL. It was 2 up front with the stock struts
