hmm, im guessing your useing the auto ecu, after the swap did you short out 9+10 pin?? has the car ever started after swap? if not thats prob your issue..check out 8g performance thread, 1st title is 5-speed swap by goosey but short out 9/10 should do it

If it cranks then it's something else. Are your spark plugs firing OK?? What mechanics do you have your car at that cant figure out how to fix your car??

IF you think the pump is the issue, test the pump. Run a 12v line from the battery back to the pump and test it. It either will turn on, or it wont. If it turns on, move on, the pump is not the issue.

are you sure you shorted the right wires? If it started before the swap then it should start after.
Did you touch and or play around with the NS switch on the clutch pedal? How did you go about your swap, i mean did you do anything extra that was not written in the TUT?

wait wait wait wait..... 1999 and 03 are not the same ecus, engines, or cam reluctors. its got its differences, and this isn't a DIRECT drop in. and last time i tried to start an 02 engine with a 2001 ecu it didn't work. It cranked but failed to start. Also there is no Ignition failure switch on the 02 so you have to short out the pins on that 4 pin harness to give power to injectors. In fact thats probably your problem.

As i understood you swapped the motor as well and can't get it to start. Well that can be due to no power to the injectors. The 4 pin harness for the ignition failure switch might have something to do with that.

Roman are you sure that 03 3g's have an ignition failure switch? I just swapped out an 02 Galant motor the other day and it didnt have a ignition failure sensor.

Allen, if you have an ignition failure sensor, its mounted on the intake manifold and its held on with two 10mm bolts, the electrical connector that goes to the sensor looks just like the connector on the Throttle Position Sensor. If your looking into the end of the connector with the metal retaining clip facing up 12 O'clock, you short out the two pins farthest to the right.
As to what Roman was saying about reluctors and ECU's they arent the same. So you might also need to install the cam reluctor from a motor the same year as your ECU. Reluctors are cheap, you can get them from the dealer for about $18.

Lucky bastard ! I was going to do a 5 spd swap, but then i bought this motor, and this rifle, and then my subs decided to weld themselves together after 4 years of pounding, so i just went and got new subs and crap too :P And with my luck of course, after i spend all my cash, my trans seal around the transmission pan is leaking fluid. and i couldnt find the leak at first. Im going to post a new thread asking for help on this issue. Ive never seen or heard of this problem before. Ill take pics and post it up, if it is not just a easy fix, EX. Swap a gasket and have the tranny flushed, than im going to be lookin to buy a 5 spd, But then again, ive been lookin for a 5 spd for 2 years now, and havent found one yet, im giving up hope in this town.

let me know if you run across any more deals like that :) i could use the whole toatled out Eclipse. But mainly, just the trans. Im not going to get too crazy with my Galant, ill keep it my daily driver ( a damm sexy one ) but i think when it comes to racing, and the track, im going to keep dumping cash into my 4g63t 6bolt i got that im building. I got a 90 talon TSI AWD all set up too, its got the big break kit, and the rear big break kit installed. So its a nice rollin chassis. but got ALOT of cash to go on the motor :)
