Ive had my silver 8th Gen GTZ for about a year now. Honestly I love the shit out of it!!! It's soo much better then any of the past pieces I had. But It's soo plane to me and I'm not used to Being soo stock. I wonder if It's really worth it to spend time and money hooking it up. Now thats prolly a stupid question for a galant forum but honestly I need to know how much life my 2001 still has in it. Can anyone help me out. And If anyone thinks I should hook it up, Where should I start?

Hey it's your car, if you feel like you need to move on to another platform, do what's best for you...and use search functions. Welcome to boards 8)

Well welcome to TGC!

There are members here whose Galants mileage exceeds 250,000 and that are still going strong. Its a solid vehicle both for reliability and modifications.

What do you want to do?

When I bought my G I wanted it to be different then all the other Gs out there. That is my drive! Look around on this web site and see what the G can do for you. Also Welcome!

First of all thanks for the feedback. Shortly after I asked that question I went out for a drive and realized that my car needed an extreme upgrade! I wanted to start off with the overall look of the car but then I decided to go performance first. I'm thinking about the M R Drift-Spec Cat Back exhaust for starters. Does anybody know what that sounds like or if it's a good buy? I'm not really looking for a fart can. Just something thats guaranteed to get peoples attention. A nice deep sound.

the Megan Cat-back is a solid exhaust...otherwise, if you're looking for attention, get an Apexi N1 or HKS muffler

I'd recommend getting some sort of intake in conjunction with exhaust, the slightly increased air flow will impact the vehicle sound

The only Intake I'm seeing is that injen short ram. Is there another one or is that a good one?

There are a few intakes out there
AEM and INJEN have both short ram and CAI intakes
check out www.ptuning.com and http://www.optionsauto.com/
also don't forget that the 8g 99-03 and the 3g eclipse 00-05 share a lot of the same parts (engine, suspension, etc)
so if you can't find it for the galant check for the elcipse.

Don't think you're going to gain much power without some serious modifications... I/H/E will only net you small HP increases.
