well, ive been saying im going to put a new system in my g for the past 5 or 6 years and now im finally going to do it, lol.

my budget is about a grand, id like to spend less if possible. im into quality over quantity. this is what im thinking so far:

Alpine IDA-001 HU http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yznmFy6qOIA/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500IDAX001&s=0&cc=01

Alpine MRP-F250 for door and rear deck speakers http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yznmFy6qOIA/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500MRPM450&s=0&cc=01

Blaupunkt GTx652 for all 4 speakers http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yznmFy6qOIA/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=023GTX652&s=0&cc=01

Alpine MRP-M450 sub amp http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yznmFy6qOIA/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500MRPM450&s=0&cc=01

Im undecided about subs, i know i want 10's i mostly listen to rock and electronic music. im thinking about kicker comps, or alpines. I have PPI's now there about 10+ years old powered by a kicker zr100 amp, it still doesnt sound too bad but i know stuff has come a LONG way since ive had my current system.

Another thing, do i want dual voice coils or single? i know i gotta bridge 2 subs with that mono amp. Also, am i going to have a problem with hooking up the door speakers and the small tweeters near the window with that amp? (i have the infinity system)
And im thinking about baffles for the rear speakers because ive blown every rear speaker in every car ive owned because of the air the subs move. are the baffles gonna screw up the sound a lot?

actually those ppi amps are still solid amps. no need to change them. I had ppi amps until someone stole them out of my truck. I missed them. I say use those amps and save money there. The speakers, Ive had blaupunkt separates back when I was broke and Ill never use them again. tweeters were whack. 10's are fine for your music you listen to, and baffles are okay but you dont really need them. they wont mess up sound. They are mostly used to keep dust and moisture out of the speaker. having a 10 inch sub isnt going to push enough air to kill your rear speakers. just set your crossover points accordingly so your subs do the bass and the rest of your speakers do whatever frequencies they are supposed to handle. Good luck! making a solid system under 1k is very doable.
