I went for a drive the other day, getting ready to do my shake down drive. I recently replaced the engine. The engine is real smooth. When I was driving down the road, as I was trying to accelerate, the car was sluggish. It was like it was trying to buil up power to go, but couldn't get power. Then all of a sudden, it would get the power and off she went. Shifting is good and smooth, so I am not worried there. In the middle of the drive, the CEL light came on, and stayed on. I haven't had a chance to check it yet, I need to find a place to check it. Anyone have any ideas that I can check before I get it checked? Speaking of which, Autozone only check ODB II cars. Mine is a 94. I am trying not so spend money on a PCM check.

To read codes on a 94 you have to ground the On Board Diagnstics (OBD) plug at position #1, and then count how many times the idiot lights flashes.

Sure someone has the list of CEL's on their pc already. I'm not home atm.

I thought the ODB II didn't start until 96?

Check near the center console up underneath the lower panel on the driver side, it should be a gray connector.

There is an OBD 2 connector on both 94 and 95. Whether it works is a completely different story. The 2 years are often referred to as OBD 1.5 since they often can only be read by a Mitsu Scanner.

Got my codes read, I have a code 43 EGR system malfunction, and a code 55 Idle Air Control (IAC) valve position sensor or circuit. That IAC is expensive. I know where that is located, I am going to replace it with one from the pick a part. I don't know where the EGR valve is. Anyone know where it is located?
