It won't work, the engine faces the opposite direction. Also to get it to work it would cost an assload of cash, but with the right amount of money anything is possible.

i see... well the reason is cause my stock engine is acting weird so i was thinking of putting a new engine whether a 3000gt or maybe an eclipse maybe but yeah

an eclipse engine will drop right in. it's the same engine if you get an engine from a 2000-2003 eclipse

You already have (if you own a V6 Galant) the same engine as the 3000GT. If its more power you want you need either a turbo or supercharger.

ur better off just swapping the head to an Evo 5-8 head an its turbo setup an get a 5 speed tranny off an 00-05 eclipse. way cheaper to do that then go out an get a 6G72 twin turbo motor. itll cost you out the ass to mod the 8g to that setup.

yeah if you have a four banger now.....I would go with a head swap and turbo and tranny if the cash is right...
