Just how good are the stock speakers??

I'm curious as to the opinions about the Infinity speakers as far as what they are made of, reliability, etc. Are they Poly or paper cone? Are the woofer rings foam or rubber? Are they really quality for stock or should I replace them first chance I get?

Replace them as soon as possible and then give me those crappy Infinity speakers...:lol:

I hear that they are pretty good. I dont know bcause my ES model didn't come with those. I do however have Alpines and have had them since 2000 and they are still good.

The factory Infinity speakers are paper cone and are quite decent performers for what they are. You can always upgrade even with inexpensive speakers (note: not cheap, just lower cost).

A basic set of components and 2-way 6x9s is more than adequate. In fact Infinity makes their reference line of speakers that are direct drop in for our cars.

That would be quite sufficient for most average audiophiles. They always have their Kappa and Kappa Perfect lines also, but those are rather deep speakers and may require mods to fit in our cars, which if you are willing and an audio junkie then thats exactly what I'd do.

For the record MB Quarts are quite nice also.

Not that I've ever seen. I believe its either in the external infinity amp or the headunit itself.
