Ok so I lowered my car using tein s v6 springs and kyb gr2 struts. I also replaced my strut mounts in the front and bushings in the rear. Now between 20-25 the floor boad shakes when the accerlate. I did not do this before i lowered it. I rebalnced my tires and have redone the alignment after i lowered it. Any ideas would be greatly appricated. I love how she drives and she is not bouncing at all. Just need to figure out what is causing the shaking. Any ideas!?!?!?

you should have read and researched before you dropped your car. you would have found this out yourself beforehand.

for the most part, this is normal. your drive shafts now sit at a different angle and will cause some of that wobble feel.

oh ok.. is there a way to fix that? does it cause any damnage? I feel alot better knowing it is normal

Your car should not vibrate, even after lowering it. Mine has never vibrated or shake after a lowering job. Make sure your tires are balanced corectly. Also more info would help, who did the drop, did you/they make sure to get all bolts an dnuts tight to specs...etc??

my car never vibrated and it's been lowered on 3 different setups. check your bolts and alignment. also check wheel balance.

Well i have teins and kyb gr2 struts, I put new strut mounts in the front new bushings in the rear on the mounts. I did it myself at work( At Goodyear) I rebalanced my tires, which have less than 1000 miles on them and did the alignment. Any suggestions would be great. I did not tourge the struts, i used the impact. But deff noting is loose i double checked that already

Ack.. I would highly suggest to torque any suspension related parts. Not that I know/think thats your problem; but for anyone replacing suspension parts keep in mind its a VERY good idea to torque them to factory specs.

too tight will make it vibrate? I understand if it is loose but everything is tight

i don't understand how u can say if something is loose or tight. i mean some of the nuts on the suspension have to be torqued to over 200 ft-lbs and really, how can u really tell if its tight or not without some sort of measurement tool? for example 150 ft-lbs might feel "tight" but according to specs, it wouldn't be tight enough.

When mine was lowered with Vogtland springs and KYB struts i didnt feel any shaking at all, not even when i upgraded to K-Sport coilovers...

well i tighted it with my impact gun, its about 350 ft lbs of tourge... so thats how i know its tight

From what has already been said, this is a common problem, and you don't have many options to fix it other than to not lower your car as drastically.

Just what I have concluded here...

I'm pretty slammed on Tein SS-P's

I only experience the wobble around 20-30mph. And only when I'm riding on my 17's

I don't feel wobble when I am on my 15's.

But either way, my car doesn't vibrate. It never did.

u think the rim size has something to do with it? i have 17's

does anyone think the wobble has to do with it being lowered with traction control....?

I've heard that u can cross over parts (engine, trans, etc) from an eclipse. Woud this work for shock/strut ?

I have the same set-up. Tein S-techs and GR-2s. Does the same thing.

It's not that there is anything wrong, it just changes the geometry on the axles. I chased it for a year thinking it was something else. Changed everything i could think of, wheels, tires, struts, axles, wheel bearings, rotors, and several balances and alignments.

It will wear your axles quicker, but nothing drastic or dramatic. Just an annoying side effect i think.

what needs to be changed about the axles to stop this, are they too long now? How much quicker do the axles wear out? When u replace them does it stop for a little while till they wear again?

i get the shakes too

The extra wear on the axles is nothing you would notice. As far as I know there is no fix for the "V6 tein shakes". Not sure if those with the 5-speed swap have the shakes.

so the shakes is only with tein? so if i switch the springs it will stop?

I'm on my 3rd suspension setup with my '99 V6 and the only time I ever had the shakes was with my 1st setup of Progress springs with Koni inserts up front (KYB AGX's weren't available for the front yet) and KYB AGX in the rear. But, that was only after the front Koni inserts started wearing out. Before the Koni inserts, I had stock struts up front which blew out real quick and even then, I never had any shakes, just bouncing. lol.

The only time I have the shakes is when I dont get my coffee early, like right after I wake up. On a serious note though, I've been lowering cars for over 15 years and I have never had any, including Hondas shake from being lowered. Who knows!

Not to revive an old thread but i have a 2000 LS V6 with Eibach springs and KYB Gr-2's and i experience the same shaking only during moderate acceleration. Heavy and Light acceleration doesn't seem to shake. Im also running factory 16" rims with Yokohama Avid V4s 205/55r16. By any chance would the 5sp swap have any affect on this (very) minor problem
