I see an open air filter there, do you have/planning any other engine mods to beef it up to over 300HP?

I sure wish I had that in my car.

I like those those grills too. Do they come stock on VR4s? If not where the hell did you get them? I would love a pair.

The bodywork on my car is completly standard straight from Japan. the grille is about 100 UK £'s from my local dealer!
As for more beef, here's the spec for it:-
Specs As Follows
Engine: 6A12TT, Uni-chip, air filter, water injection
Drivetrain: M/T , Standard clutch!
Intercooler: standard front mounted
Exhaust: home made 3" cat remaved
BHP: 307 @ 6519 RPM
Lbft:271 @ 4940

I'm going to try and fit 2 hybrid T4 turbo's on but to do that I need to change pistons, rods and get 2 new manifolds/headers made up(that aint cheap!). I'm hoping to take the engine out and start september time but that date just keeps geeting pushed back!
I've just had to pay out £945 on a new rim, new suspension and steering because of the shitty roads we have in England, I hit a pot hole the size of a Mini at 85mph!

What do you mean by "overhaul kit"? I've never heard of one!! :?
Most things are available for the 6A12 non turbo but if your stuck for parts try and get some from an FTO specialist, same engine https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

Chad> dude we have the same engine https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif I mean't the kit that you can get from the dealer that has all the gaskets and wear and tear stuff that you need to replace when you get an overhaul. I have yet to find one for my 6a12TT over here and im thinking of getting one imported.

I did the conversion and that would be about $162USD. For anyone thats interested.

Badass engine. Must be fun to have a TT galant with over 280hp! Are the VR-4s common in England weather its 7g or 8g? Here, the 6g vr-4 are very hard to find, and even when I do see one I hate the body style!

Sorry about that!! I got confused for a bit then!!! :?:
I did try and get some info on a gasket kit but couldn't get an accurate price from anyone!
Shot gasket set-------- MD971347 £ Unknown
Full gasket set--------- MD971348 About £345.22
Price isn't that much help but part numbers might be!
Let me know if you have any luck https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

8g's are common as, I see them all the time! The 6g I,ve never seen or heard of! The 7's are very rare, hadn't heard of any one else in England with one till two days ago.
Its very fun having over 280bhp but after driving it for a while you get used to it and you want more!!! :? Just heard of a development place who are building 2 special TD04 turbo's for a car the same as mine!! I know the bloke doing the work, so when he's finished he's going to stick some on mine for a really good price https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif just got to replace the pistons.
That will be fun then :? should be good for about 500 horses https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

Don't know! I've never put it down one. The nearest track to me is to far to go and I'm a bit scared of doing some damage with a brutal start
I might try it when I upgrade the clutch https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif I'm running the standard one still  . I did do some timing with some mate's on the road and got this:-
0-60.......5.1 sec
0-100......12.3 sec
I don't think this is very accurate though :?
I've raced a Lotus Exiege of the line and beat him, and they ain't slow https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

chad> a few more questions, i have to ask, whats the part number for the piston ring set for our twin turbo engines? is it the same as the normally aspirated 6a12 piston rings?

and also the part number for the gasket kit for our puny TDO25M turbines https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

will the TD04 actually fit? is it the Pajero/montero TD04? or the TD04 from the 4g93T? or the 4g63T?
ive seen two kinds of TD04, the TD04-09 and the TD04-13, what will you get? https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

really sorry man for the hassle its just there are absolutey no parts for this engine over here and i have to get them overseas! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

I'll get you some pics of the BOV (took me a while to realise what you ment, We call it a dump valve here! :? ).
I can't find any info on the piston rings, my local dealer doesn't even list them :!: I wouldn't of thought that the rings are the same as the normally aspirated, i don't think they'd handle the pressure! I can't find part numbers for the turbo's either, they don't even supply them for anything on the roads in the UK!! Not much help here today
The tdo4 turbo's are the one's from the GTO 3Ltr. I'm still waiting for a friend of mine to do some development work for a big tuning company in the UK. Their trying to upgrade from the puny tdo2's to the tdo4's.
Should work out really well as they will pay for all the development work and I will get the benifits of cheaper units, fitting etc. I'll let you know as soon as the development work is done! should be a couple of months!
Don't worry about hassle friend, i joined this site for help on my car and don't mind helping others https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
