JDM VR-4 Rear bumper Installed

Well, figured i get off my a$$ now since school is done, and i have some free time till i start working and put on all those parts i have in my basement.

Today i put on the vr4 rear on, took like 4 hours!! was a total pain in my cheeks "no homo", some of you know i got a full fiberglass trunk and every-things been re-wraped in blk carpet so it took a good 1 1/2 hour to remove the system and peel the carpet to get the screws. I took out the spare also, figured if it takes this long screw that, im not doing it on the side of the road. My tails dont seem to be flush like they used to be with my USDM bumper i have no idea why, anybody else with the same rear have a little gap (pics below). Also the bottom of the bumper stick out as seen in pics, im guessing they might stick out to accept the vr4 side lips which is the only reason why i think they stick out, so can some1 conform that for me. I like the look of it alot i love the short bumper. Tomorrow im taking the car to few body-shops for estimates.

you need the rear side extensions.

unless you remove the lip, it needs rear side extension

Side extensions are NEEDED for the VR4 rear.. looks good so far except for the tail light problem.. I didn't have that problemo.. ?

hmm, ill re try the tails tomorrow, i know i dont have that plastic part which it clips into the body, might be the issue even though i had none with usdm, might have to visit mistu parts

I don't think the bumper should have anything to do with the lights sitting too far in..? Its puzzling..

agreed...you need the vr4 side extensions.

weird on the tail lights though. i didn't have that problem.

hey Ron, my tails sit exactly the same way, only option is to remove the white clip and slide the lights over, but yeah, like i said last night, u need the extensions to make the bumper look right

Looks good Ron! I agree wit Astig and Cali you need the extensions for the bumper. search for DANJ's whip I believe he has posted a pic of it.

Just curious, since Trigg doesn't ship rear bumpers, how is everyone getting them? lol. I already have one, but mine is a fiberglass replica and I'd rather have an OEM one.

yea thier hard to find, but he ships. i got mine from a member on tgc from the west cost couple months back

He wasnt shipping them because he said they deform too bad from being folded. Then I needed two of them, and I told him that I would hold him harmless if they came in damaged because I just really wanted them, he sent me two of them folded, both of them looked really bad, but then after sitting out in the hot sun for 2 or 3 days, they went about 98% back to stock shape, only a few spots had to be heated with a heat gun and shaped, so overall they came out really good.

trig can actually get the oem rear, he offered to me once! to bad for me i didn't have the money at the time!
