i want to take off the mistubishi and es off the back of my car and the v6 thing on the side i was pulling it up to see what it was held on by and it looks like it will be a pain in the ass to get the left over adhesive stuff off. If i take them off will it ever look nice? like the paint be shinny or will it be sticky and ugly? any help or thoughts

what you should do is heat the emblems with a blow dryer to loosen up the sticky stuff, and then remove the emblem with fishing line...I was left with minimal sticky residue....I rubbed that off with GooGone....
and then waxed the trunk where the emblems came off....
and it's all good....the paint is fine....just as shiny as the rest of my car

Bug and Tar remover from Pepboys works fine. Wipe on, keep wiping Wipe off Daniel son..... Now Go Paint the Fence.

use Goo Gone. Stinks like all hell and will get you high if you inhale it long enough but works great

if its a warm day, just park ur car in the sun for a few hours and then just rub off most of the glue with ur fingers. then hit up the area with ur favorite car wax, zymol is my favorite, and then it should come off.

You can also use lighter fluid. Just remember to wash the areas afterwards. Works great on adhesives!

Yeah like blue said, go w/ zippo fuid or gasoline, it works the best... Use small amounts and just rub in a circular motion. Works very fast. Goo gone leaves an oily film everywhere...

Actually I didn't use anything except my fingers...carefully peeled it and it came off clean like the sticky stuff on your credit cards when it's attached to the letter.

Haha, you make it sound like WD-40 is free.

Does anybody know how to get off the Mitsubishi EMBLEM off of the back? I got the lettering off with a hot gun, but the emblem I believe is screwed on. Anyway to do it...without having to use plugs or paint or anything?

the diamond star is held in by pins. the words itself isn't. jus t take that heat gun to it and warm it up and u can rip it off. or if u have more balls, go happy with the heat gun and burn that sucker off. be careful not to damage the paint
