I need your advice on mufflers.

hey there I am looking to replace the exhaust on my galant. I dont quite know where to start I dont have much to spend but i dont want to get something real cheap and get screwed. I have looked on ebay and they have them ranging from about 10 bucks to 150 but I dont wasnt to go really cheap and get some stupid obnoxious muffler. How do i choose? I could use some suggestions if you have any or if anyone has a used muffler for a good price please let me know.or if anyone has experience with those cheap ebay mufflers good or bad i want to know.

Magnaflow as a first choice...Dynomax as a second. Have had both on my car....both reliable, neither sounds like a fart can.

I would avoid at all possible costs on buying a cheap Ebay muffler...I have seen those things literally fall apart. I have seen and heard a few Magnaflows, and they sound pretty good. I personally have a Blitz Nur Spec on my 7g and a Apexi N1 on my Galant VR4 and I am very happy with both. I used to have a Meagan N1 style on my Galant VR4 when I first bought the car...the previous owner bought it so I can have a muffler on the car on its drive to Florida. I was impressed with the Megan muffler and the sound was good.

was just wondering on that megan racing does it have like an annoying sound or quite but when u take off there is a lil niose to it ? i dont know what i should get like i want it quite i hate loud muffflers can you help me out or if anyone else knows about... thaks

i have the Apex i N1 muffler all i can say is i love it there design to go no louder than 95db and nasty fart sound either has has a nice deep tone i know a few others on here have Apex i

im no help tho. i spent $435 to get high flow, full stainless, bolt on made for my car..

there is nothing but what i have thats made for the 9g. the guys talking about magnaflow are either 7 or 8g. orrrr had something custom made.

I think you would need a Eclipse 4G catback to modify it, or many of us just use a muffler, a Magnaflow with Tip
For Performance mods you need to use 4G eclipses parts 06-present

It's just a universal muffler and then you get the custom piping made at the muffler shop.

Megan muffler actually sounds pretty good I've searched it on YouTube. Particularly the Megan GT.

I'm running into the same problem with intakes.
reeeeeeeeeeeead the words that are coming out of my computer.
there is no cat back system made for the 9g galant. i have, on my car, the ONLY axle back exhaust made for the 9g. if you want the same thing, i can set that up for you. but it doesnt come cheap.
you can always use a universal muffler, which is what most people do for the 9g.
the stock piping is big enough. so all you need is a muffler and high flow cat.

as for intakes. like OMEGA said. you need to search for the 06+ eclipse. my suggestion is fugita. its well made and the least expensive.

get a megan muffler there is carbon fiber looks good and its only 120+ shipping its on ebay and get it custom fit like cat back to your loco shop..its gonna be all in all 300+ its not bad at all,,

for 8g they have the full cat back exhaust,,,they post it in wrong thread it should be @ 8g thats y i said get a muffler and custom made it coz there is no full exhaust for 9g yet,,sorry mah bad:icon :cul:
