Anyone here running the Tien lowering springs with the stock struts, how bad is the ride quality?

The ride is not bad, the issue is that stock strut/shock will not last with lowered springs and you will have to replace them soon after, specially if your struts are old. I would suggest Tein S-Tech springs with KYB GR2 strut replacements or KYB AGX adjustable struts to go with those springs. Tein S-Techs are great, I had them with KYB AGX and teh ride was great. Now I have KYB AGX with Megan Racing Springs.

How do you like the megan v. the tiens. Why did you change over? Wanna sell the tiens?

I lieked the Teins better. The megans were a trade off for my old suspension. To me the Megans ride as good as the teins but if was buying them again, I would probably go with Teins again.

You can also looking into tokico shocks too. I personally like tokico over KYB, they last longer and have a better ride quality to them.

Your car will be bouncy, ricer hop. You wont have long until the stock struts go out, lowering the car will add to much stress on them. KYB and Tokico make struts that can be used wit lowering springs.

tell you how long you have until the stock struts go out is like telling you what tonights lotto numbers will be.

but rule of thumb, the older the shocks, the quicker they will go. the lower you go, the quicker they will go.

when i had my eibachs i blew out the factory struts in less than a week lol.

i got about 14 months (~11k miles) out of a new set of gr2s when i had my tiens installed... chicago roads are pretty punishing though so im sure that has alot do do with it.

i've put tein springs on stock shocks. I lasted about 10k miles before they went bad. Gladiator also used sprigns on stock shocks and his blew out really fast. 6 months i would say. save yourself the time, do it right the first time

The rear suspension is completely stock on my G but the front is stock strut with Tein S-Tech springs. Been runnin it this way for about 2 years and my struts have been bad for about 6 months. If you really want the drop that bad, do it big, but if ur cool with waiting, then I suggest doing so. My AGXs are on order. lol. Cant wait.
