I just got her back from the shop after a timing belt change and her first water pump replacement. Hard to believe with that kind of mileage. The mechanic didn't think it even needed to be changed, until I told him the mileage and that I was the original owner. Any other 7G's with over 250,000 miles? I love this car! (forget my user name)

I believe Seth is getting ready to his the 1/4 million mile mark on his 7g.

I still got a long way to go..130.000:cool:

I met a guy when I was getting my fiance's Endeavor serviced in the customer lounge. He owned a 1997 Galant and he was getting his serviced. We started talking about my 7g and his 7g and eventually found out his had 412,000 miles on it. He travels up and down the east coast alot and sometime cross country. Still on the original motor and original 5 speed tranny too. The only thing major he said that broke was the fuel pump gave up at around 300,000 miles and the rear passenger side window motor took a crap around 160,000. I had to see it to believe it...so I saw his repair order and it confirmed his 7g had 412,000 miles on the Odo

Haha 412k is insane. Im just over 220k now original engine. The auto trans was replaced 2 times that I am aware of, the last time it was replaced I think it only lasted 50 or 60k. But when I got it, I threw in my 5spd so.

On the body and chassis I am st 230k+..but I had the engine replaced because that damn balance shaft belt snapped and fucked me over! SO now I have like...23k+ on the engine and the trans has less...I should have the car for another 11 years at least!

260K and climbing. Heres what Ive had to do to it:
5 speed swap (originally paid 100 bucks for the car to my buddy, had a bad auto and no front bumper cover)
98 front end swap
clutch
Timing belt/WP/belts
Poly bushing kit
brake rotors/pads
distributor (buddy bought it at autozone, lifetime warranty!! :)
New GR-2's (ALSO under lifetime warranty!)
tires
Thats it. Have driven the car 7 years, never left me stranded. I will ALWAYS have a galant.
Just yesterday I swapped in a motor out of a 97. Mine still ran fine but used some oil (valve seals) and I got a smokin deal on a low mileage motor (250 bucks) so I replaced the original. We pulled the crank journals and the bearing surfaces are perfect. Try that with a Toyota. Mitsus are VERY underrated. If you take care of them, and understand the basics of maintenence and adjustments then they go forever.

Dude its been running FINE. No need to change your oil. Just change your filter and youre all set to go. Sure you may lose a bit of oil with each filter change. But hey, less fluid, less weight!

Iam about at 220,000 as well. I got it at about 87,000 and went through about 3 auto tranny's, 2 5speeds, timing belt and water pump.
Ive done so much to it maintenance wise it would be silly for me to get rid of it

Off topic G-Rim check your pm :P
