230...easiest way...nitrous...just spray spray spray...uhm the next option is to get a turbo and things work up from there...

i don't think nos will add 80 Hp to i4 cyl car. if u get a turbo/headers/catback/cai/nos. and then u might get somewhere to that #.

hehe such a broad statement. Well there is no cheap way in attaining 230 or so hp on a 4cyl car...u will need @ LEAST 7000 if not more to attain that number (i could be wrong with deals and such)...but simply speaking there is no cheap way to make any car fast even NOS is expensive considering the work and modifications one must do to use it

In a sense, zex could blow your motor depending on how many shots you are using. I would say that for a 4 cyl 50-75 would be the max. Using NOS will decrease your engine life. That totally depends on how many shots you use, but no matter what it will decrease it somewhat.

No shortcuts unfortunately. It's hard to get 30 more HP just from bolt-ons and that all adds up. Everything else other than bolt-ons are where you're going to see big gains but also takes lots of labor, expensive components, and more labor. And when you want serious HP, everything internally (engine) needs to be upgraded just to be able to handle the extra loads. Then after all the mechanical upgrads are done, you need to do all the electronic components to manage your new mods AND find a good tuner to help you dial in on all those ponies. Everything takes bucks...... the more you have, the better, lol.

nitrous will shorten the life of the motor...and the tranny. have nitrous brings extra stresses to the drivetrains and if your motor doesn't blow up by you spraying all teh time, it will blow up by you spraying at the wrong time

you need a turbo... simple as that...

MPH makes a turbo kit for our car, but it's not cheap, and neither will the fuel management or the dyno time... good luck...

i know the 2G Eclipse bottom ends were pretty bulletproof, but i'm not sure about the new engines... you could throw all kinds of boost into them things and they'd like it...

i say both...i'd go with a bigger turbo. yea that means turbo lag but then you got a good top end...and for the lower end...get that zex kit to take care of that...
