Hello.

My name is Henrik and im from sweden, so excuse my english. I hope you understand what I write :)
I have been dropping in on this forum several times, and you guys have helped me alot. But I havent made a user, so now is the time.

I thought I could share what Ive been doing in the garage for ~ 6 months.

The link is to swedens largest carsite, and my project thread. I dont have the time to translate the project to english, but if you have questions you are welcome to ask. And it has many pictures so even if you dont understand the text you will understand by looking at the pictures. Its 17 pages at this time.

The link: http://www.garaget.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=73151&p=1

The manifold needs some reinforcement...I can see the runners cracking either where they meet to the cylinder head flange or the turbo flange. What grade of piping did you use?

I am trying to understand why you went with a individual throttle body manifold?

The inlet manifold runners are actually milled from a solid bar of aluminum, but since my brother hadn´t figured out how to weld aluminum with his newly bought TIG welder at the time he glued the runners to the cylinder flange with JB Weld. He is almost expecting the glue to crack, but when it does we will get it welded in no time. Just because everyone goes for fuel injection we decided to use carburators, so it is actually 38mm Mikuni carbs from a Suzuki GSXR 750 instead of throttle bodies.

Thank you, I am also sceptical about the spoiler. Im thinking about 4 black sharkfins on the trunk. I have seen a supra with 4 sharkfins on the roof, and that looked badass imo. I like the bumper. Its not as usual here as in USA.

Thanks. A few hours has gone by in the garage ;) and more to come.
I hope to be able to start the engine before winter, and for it to be ready for paint in the end of the winter.

I guess time will tell if the exhaust manifold will crack, but the K24 turbo is very lightweight compared to larger ones like Holsets HX-series so I think that it will survive. I have no idea of the grading, but it is the same quality that other tuning companies around here use. Mild steel, no SS.

Nice job. Alot of work, well done.

At the end im saying to myself "Why did he weld up the whole intake manifold but still not flange for the TB?"

JACKASS. 5 mins before that I was in awe at the ITB setup, that I soon neglected to realize was still there.

Well done my friend! I wish I had a garage, like you do, to work on my car. A lot more stuff would be done untill now. Love the Evo hood scoop, but no like the body kit - I personally like the stock front bumper better. Hopefully that 1.8L will spool up the turbo nicely! I dont understand the use of 4 throttle bodies when you dont have forged internals and cant boost more than 12psi, and with these power outputs your manifold is not really restrictive. A simple 60mm throttle body swap wouldve been enough, but respect for the custom intake manifold.

I saw your G had rear disk brakes, and its weird cuz only one USDM Galant, the GS trim, comes with that setup. And I see your is not a DOHC model either which makes me think that EU models are more hooked up than the US Galants

man it looks like you had some serious fun, amazing workload! there's some clever ideas you're coming up, this looks like an awesome build.

honestly? it all looks great except for the wing....ditch the wing. anything but a JDM or Evo8 wing is hard to agree with on the 7G. stock wing works well also...

nice work, I duno about the custom manifold, Maybe buying one is hard to come by over there but either way it gets the job done probably at a fraction of the cost...

Iam loving the itb's as well and it should give that 7g a unique sound :) Your external and internal custom parts look pretty cool too but Like everyone else, the Wing has got to go IMO...

Good luck and can't wait to see more pics and a vid of it running :)

wow every single picture in there really blew me away. Very impressive fabrication skills and I really like how many different ideas you have incorporated into your build. Not to mention you are still doing bodywork and repairs to an aged vehicle, that shows alot of dedication that most people don't even have, and beyond that even you went your own way with the intake system itself and completely re-engineered the entire thing just becuase you could. That is seriously hardcore man, you are a badass dude

Thanks for the amazing feedback guys :)

Some more work have been done on the car. Dont know how much you have seen.

Here is the project from page 19: http://www.garaget.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=73151&p=19

The newest update (from yesterday) is on page 21.

If you want you can use the google webpage translator, but the images gets a bit smaller if you do that.
http://translate.google.se/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.garaget.org%2Fforum%2 Fviewtopic.php%3Fid%3D73151%26p%3D19&sl=sv&tl=en&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8 (http://translate.google.se/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.garaget.org%2Fforum%2 Fviewtopic.php%3Fid%3D73151%26p%3D19&sl=sv&tl=en&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8)

I have ditched the wing and come up with a new idea that includes 4 sharkfins. Please check it out on page 21 and tell me what you think. I think it is going to be nice and clean. The sharkfins are going to be black and the car olivegreen (saabs arbourgreen).

ok I have a question, most bike carb conversions are on 1600cc type engines, because the velocity stacks on teh carbs just can't allow enough air. I see you solving that with a turbo, however what did you do to get the fuel mixture right. I have a cbr 900 thats jetted and it's a bitch to balance, and get the mixture right. what size main jets are you using ?

Thanks :)
I guess it wont pass smog, but Im not even planning to try.
I´ll take the ticket.

when this car is ready, i think it needs to be nominated for car of the month

Thanks man, that would be awsome :P

Well, I just got the MSD ignition to work. So I havent started to jett the carbs properly yet.

It´s gonna be a pain in the ass. But it is a part of the process.

Thanks, it havent paid off quit yet. But I hope it will :)

Yes it can, but I rather use the touchscreen or even the iphone. For the most parts it will be in front row, so I dont need a mouse that much.

nice.. very nice

Thanks :)

Awesome-jaw-dropping project! Browsed through the entire pages on Garaget and based on all the images that I've seen man your car went thru some serious metamorphesis. Very interesting concept from adding fender flares to hooking up a mini-mac along with a flat screen monitor mounted on a dashboard. Waw! A lot of members here would take one project at a time but on your end you have gone full on! Excellent work and I can't wait to see the final result.
