Well I spend all day installing a new from clip on my 06 today.
It was a total waste. It would NOT fit correctly. I called and taked to the place I ordered it from. I sent them picture of the body not lining up. The are going to look into it and deside on what they are going to do.

If I can not get it worked out I might just put on 07 clip on.

Do you guys know if the above will fit an 06 it looks like it will.

as a rule of thumb all bodykits will require modding...some more then others

i believe here is a lip as well for he 9g...not sure where to get it though

I would not have minded some modding, bur it was about 5/16" to 3/8" to narrow on each side.

That's a big gap right there. I hope the people you ordered it from can make a solution if not return it to them. Goodluck.

This is what they say"Accurate Fitment (Money-Back Guaranteed)". I talked to them and they wanted pictures. I am not going to post where it got it from or the brand untill we get it worked out.

Sorry to hear about that fitment, I hope you at least get a refund for it. I don't know what kind of funds you have but you could always get a shop to do it and let them worry about it.......I hate when I spend a lot of money on something and still have to start chopping it up.......reminds me of my injen intake fiasco.......hope you get it straightened out.

bring it to a bodyshop. they can make it fit and look good. honestly, FG bodykits are not meant to be installed by home mechanics... they almost never fit perfect and need modification (there are exceptions of course but they usually cost MUCH more).

I am not your normal "Home Mechanic"

I was able to cut it apart and get it to fit. I reinforced it wil braces and glassed it all back togehter, I dropped it at the body shop today to have it painted.

That looks great, can't wait to see it on the car. Is it a full kit or just a front bumper. I'd stick with an entirely black grill, but go with whichever you like best?

Hmm... that looks really good, now I wonder whether it would look better with black grills or silver, If they were silver it would contrast nicely but black would look good too.

good job! what are your plans for the sides and rear? also i would add fogs to the side vents and put on some 20's and lower it to get rid of the huge wheel gap. it's coming along.

I am using this car as my daily driver so I do not plan on lower it. The front is low the way it is. I am thinking about putting a splitter on which will lower the clearance even more.

I am not planning on going bigger than 16" I prefer to taller sidewalls to help with the ride. I have my eye out for some 16" when I find some I like I will buy them, but I really like the stock rims. I am already running bigger rims 235/55/16s.

I am planning on doing the rear bumber next then the sides.

Reelax
09-29-2008, 06:09 PM
it's not the ride height or front clearance that is unsightly, it's the gigantic wheel well gaps above your tires... and you want to stay w/ 16's? why even get a kit? also don't get a splitter unless u lower and upsize your rolling stock... it will look silly otherwise.
