who has the J-Spec headlights installed with pics

Help wanted! I was just wondering if anyone has the time to show me their pics of a american galant with the J-Specs installed. I'm still interested in getting them but I've read alot of different stories about how they fit. I wrecked the fornt end of my car, but since has fixed it; so I'm riding around with the old broken heads until I get some info.

to hott! I love them but how easy was the install and it looks like you didn't clear them?

It shouldn't be too hard to install. Removing the bumper the first time will be harder than grinding the bump reinforcement seats down(if needed). go to mazarin.pandarage.com/galant for some pics of the install and such.

I didn't clear them cause one, I didn't want to go busting them up before I even installed them(who needs more stuff to do when you're trying to get something installed the first time?) and second, I like the way they look this way.

thats mine installed i cleared them which is very easy and i used an orange bulb from the stock us blinkers....

it was easy i just havent done the low beams yet... im running on the two inside bulbs

dam they look hot!! Anyone have the headlights installed on a 97-98 galant? I've read they don't fit as well...is it a noticeable difference? Also, how could the gap be filled?

<span style='color:blue'>Hey guys, and any gals that may see. I just recieved my J-specs monday. I haven't installed them yet, cause i'm waiting to see what goes on with some body kits. But anyway, clearing the corners will proved to be much much easier on the J's instead of the US's. When i cleard my US's it took me like four hours, and most of that was heating the silicone enought o get the lens cover back.
The J's come in two pieces, and looking at the back of them there are some cool spots to put in some strobes too. I want to clear the corners, but i think i can do it without prying the lens off, otherwise it's just a bulb shaped yellow piece that's in the corner to make the light yellow.
As far as the install, i think Maz had gaps due to him having a 7 1/2 gen as apposed to the 7gen. I have a 94 and i think it might fit right in. but i think i'm going to wait till i get a kit, and strobes. Just figured i'd do all the work at one time, but it shouldn't take six hours this time.</span>

I know Maz has some pics and stuff on his site... but has anyone made a tutorial & parts list for installing the J-specs?

I definitely plan on buying them later this year or early next year and always try to weigh my options first...

<span style='color:blue'>Follow the instructions for clearing the corners. These are the exact same steps you will have to go through to get the old lights out. Just take your time. When i cleared my corners, i completely removed the front bumper, the t-bar above the lights, and the light housing. That tutorial is very detailed and is exactly what you need to do. Maz said he needed to do some grinding, but i'm not really sure if it needs to be done. I know getting the US's out was kind of a bitch, but the came right out. It just might be that the J's are a hard as well. I plan on putting mine in sometime in the next month. What i'll do is i'll take some pictures. Maybe by then i'll know how to post them on this board, still haven't figured that out yet. :roll: </span>

u gonna get gaps regardless, i have them and i have gaps, not much but i dont care....I'm about to do a 97/98 front end conversion...so either way i'll have gaps unless i find a way to fixit

Yeah clearing my corners was a pain in the arse for sure but I dig the new look so I guess it was well worth it... I'm fiending the J-specs though, they look so much better than our boring/dull US ones.

Sooner than later I will have them...

no matter what u do, u have to grind the top part of the bumper bolt holder cuz they get in the way of the headlights, unless someone did it differently, i grinded 1/2 of it off

Got mine on today, but I don't have a URL to post from. I used a dremel for the bumper support brackets. Wore down 2 carbon cutting wheels cutting through those thick ass brackets. After that lights fit right on ( now all I have to do is get ahold of maz so I can hook them up...)
