idling high and low constantly!!!

my car is idle-ing high and low constantly and when its in park it idles at about 2 and half. is it the idle control motor??? can anyone help???

does it sometimes die right adter u start it unless u give it a little gas 2 get it where it should be?

Shit mines been doing it too. But i just replaced my timing belt so i bet the timing is off. Mine idles fine in park and neutral, but when i come to a stop light in drive its all over the place.

When was the last time that you did a tune up?

And when was the last time that you cleaned out your maf?

the last time i had a tune up was about 2 months ago but a mehcanic said its the idl control motor and i was wondering if it can possibly be that. but i never took it to clean out the maf.

judging by past experience wit this problem and having diagnosed it on many id say check the little things n pray its them but its probably the iac motor n thats not cheap bout 300 dependin where u go. Its not the biggest of deals cuz mine was like that for months b4 i fixed it cuz i hoped it was everything else n checked n cleaned everything but no luck.

It sounds like your idle air control valve thats causing the issue...classic symtoms you are having. Brand new its going to be pricey..you are better off going to a salvage yard and buying a throttle body off another 7g and slapping it on.

i agree wit 4grim on this cuz i got a new one for about 250 n i had it at the shop already sdo they put it in and it came 2 300 bucks 4 everything.. find a good used one and itll b a fraction of that
