That looks great, fabric looks like it stuck perfectly. Not a fan of the burberry but appreciate the work.

Jeffylou87

LOL, it's not burberry.. Eveyone thinks that tan plaid is burberry... it's not.. It's just a color that matches to my interior and I like the plaid look.. Thanks for the comments though.. I didn't take a pics during progress so I can't make a tutorial.. Sorry carl. :)

hahah yeah, it looks similar. But how long did the rear deck take? also did you staple the extra fabric from the back? I always wanted to try this to my rear deck with black suade

Jeffylou87
11-06-2008, 09:51 PM
No stapling involved.. Needed 3 yards of fabric and two 24oz bottles of 3M super 90.. Its super simple

If anyone wants to wrap their stuff just come by my town and I'll help out..

Its really much simpler than it looks. Just take off everything that looks like its holding it up..

Nytrus: I am saving for it.. But I make $8 an hour :( I'm trying.. I need tires first though..

Yes, its similar. You will need to remove the rear deck anyway (assuming thats why Jeff did his rear deck also) to get the headliner out. The a-pillar, b and c pillar covers need to come out. You probably have to remove the lower b-pillar covers also because no doubt the upper pillars screws are covered there. The rear seat, and that should be about it.

Material reminds me of golf pants and I don't like it but I give you an A+ for the labor part.

Hey man great work! How hard was the headliner, that's my next project. Whit vinyl :D Unless it's too thick for the headliner... the doors weren't extremely hard, but I think a thinner fabric would have made it easier.

to make it flow even better i suggest doing the doors. you tecnically dont need to glue it over your leather. Just remove it from the door (its easy), wrap it, pull it as tight as possible and staple gun in the back and re-install....

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I wrapped my headliner in black suede today.

On a scale of 1-10 mine is about am 8, there are two little creases I couldnt get out. I actually think it would be easier if I had a sunroof, because I would have had an opening to push the wrinkles out to.

Overall nice work on yours, not a fan of the pattern, but if it makes you happy, thats what matters.

This 3M spray is amazing.. It's holding up just fine.. No sagging or bubbles..

Thanks Stewi.. Suede is a little bit harder to work with because its a thicker material and heavier.. It was pretty easy with the sunroof because I got to pull it up and around to the upside and glue it up there too.. Thanks for the compliment on the job!

Thanks man.. Thought about using Super 77 but then I heard about Super 90 that was stronger.. I went with that cause I want it to last me a long time.. I'm glad the the 77 is holding up for 5 years now..

I like the pattern on the rood but not on the arm rest or rear lid. I think it looks real good up top. Cool stuff. I really want to do an interior overhaul and this seems like something I'd like to try out. Nice job man.

I4betterthanUR4
12-16-2008, 02:49 AM
I first saw the headliner when your car was voted cotm and I gotta say that is effin cool. My opinion, I think the arm rest looks off cause it doesn't flow with the rest of the interior up front if you dont consider the headliner. I think you should do the cloth parts of the door panel with that design and I think it'll look like it belongs there. Keep us updated.

LOOKS GOOD !!!! How many yards of fabric you need for the headliner?

Jeffylou87
12-31-2008, 07:09 PM
I bought 4 yards but only used 3.. For the rear deck and the headliner. I used two bottles of 24oz Super 90.. If you plan on going leather like you asked about in another thread, I would double up on the glue.. Not sure how well that's going to work though.. Good luck!

I used suede in my eclipse with the super 90 glue and it worked well. Anyone doing interior just needs to remember to have patience because when you get to the contouring near the lights and such it can become a hassle to get it right.

Here's an update for ya'll!!

I did my girlfriends healdiner today in a fabric that she liked that matched her interior. Got it done in exactly 3 hours from start to finish.. panels and everything! I'm proud of myself and my gf cause she helped out too.

She drives a 00 ES Northstar White with gray interior.

Ive done my headliner as well, u can check my build thread, I used one large piece. I believe you will get the best results from this, as I did.

I'm an EMT.. They are emergency lights.. Thanks for all the comments... I have them in the front and rear.. Usually when you order a yard it's wide enough to cover from side to side, I usually get four yards to do the headliner and rear deck..

Hey Jeffy (and everyone else) you may have seen the black/grey checkered fabric I used for my interior. Well the doors look great, but the headliner sags unmerciful. Could it be the fabric? The back of it is completely smooth, which I later realized could make it harder for the glue to grab onto it and hold it to the headliner? I used 3m super 90, and sprayed it generously, let it get tacky, and worked the fabric on. Should I just get a thicker material (well not necessarily thicker, just more "grab able" for the glue) and redo it? Like black vinyl maybe?
