Hi guys,

Just to let everybody know that we are still alive. Sorry I haven't spent much time on the boards of late.

Yet again, we are doing R&D on a new setup, this time yielding much better results. For comparisons sake, I am posting pictures in this order:

1) Final Mits/Garrett big hybrid turbo setup we decided to go with - T3/T04E 50 trim .63 ar

2) Big full Garrett turbo setup with cast Turbonetics manifold - T3/T04 60-1 trim

3) Small Mits. T25 turbo setup

4) Comparison of the Mits. TD05H 16G I used to run vs. the 18G and then the 16G, 50 trim and 60-1 trim turbos next to each other

Just as a note, the T04E compressor housing is rather big and thus our clearance is about a 1/4" from hitting the radiator fan as you can see in the pictures. We have improved our intercooler piping in terms of routing as well and will probably switch to using a stainless tube turbo manifold by summer.

Pictures will be posted in the reply to this post.

We are concurrently working on my 240sx S14.5 Silvia conversion now as well which if anybody is interested, I will occasionally post some pics up in the 'other pics' forum if it is allowed.

Again, I apologize for not being on these boards of late. Hope everything is going great for you guys.

This is the T3/T04 60-1 Trim turbo with the cast Turbonetics manifold, full Garrett setup that we put on for comparisons sake.

Note the exhaust/turbine flange is a Garrett bolt pattern and therefore will not bolt up to my Mits. 02 housing eliminator. It's a simple fix though, for those of you who want to run a full Garrett setup. The external wastegate flange is for a 35mm/40mm Hybrid Tial wastegate.

Here it is, the factory 2G T25. The T25 is tiny. It spools up great but it's still tiny.

Just the TD05H 16G and the 18G that I used to run for some time together in the same picture for comparison. The 18G is the one that is polished. Both ran internal wastegates.

The 16G, T3/T04 50 trim and the T3/T04 60-1 Trim together. The middle turbo is the one I am currently using.

hey AK1!
I see you got you a new turrbo now...https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I am checking the pics, and i see that you still running Ac ..lol...
This is what i always wonder - how big is that downpipe with the AC ???
Mine is about 1 and 3/4 of an inch, turns and then it goes 2.5" all the way...

I am seeing on one pic your lower intercooler pipe to be big.. I didn't know you are running a FM Inntercooler? What is the size of the intlets on it??
Are you still running an internal wastegate?

Good luck with your new setup, and let us now how your T3/T4 spools...

Hi Marcin,

Yes, I am still running AC. Wouldn't have it any other way on this car. The AC was a big deal to work with though. First of all on the 99, the compressor housing was steel, not aluminium. I switched mine to a 2000 model that was aluminium and we notched it to some degree to be able to fit the 2.5" downpipe.

I have been running a Spearco FMIC for about 8 months now. We are using 2.5" inlets. It's a 3" thick core. And yes, I am currently still running an internal wastegate. We should most likely be switching to a Tial 35/40mm hybrid external once I get my new tubular manifold in summer.

Your car been treating you good Marcin ?

With all those turbines, it look like my garage floor on the weekends when my boyz show up.. AK1, hows the motor been holding up with all the different turbo's you are using.. Im having to custom build my own, seeing as how i got like a semi-turbo graveyeard in my garage..lol..

My car is treatming all right. I gor a datalogger, my fuel trims are mostely 4to 12 for the Short term fuel trims and steady 12 for the long term fuel trims...

GOT the CHeck engine soon light for
1. Fuel trims (bank1)
2. Insufficent Coolant Temparature in the closed loop.

Any help on those codes?

Now, I am running 7 psi with no problems...I can't boost it more though cuz of the tranny....(which is still stock)...EGT is an awesome gauge, whcih i should of got in the first place...I need to tune my car on the dyno well though...
My first run was only 140 whp, but we are working on it to be close to 200whp easely - with that boost...
Can't wait till i get more money cuz dyno tuning =$$$.
Actualy, I am still wainting to put the piece of pipe (testpipe), cuz I am running an open exhaust right now (sound really good but I started to hate it right now)...

I got a question for you Ak1, but I guess I will call you on that one someday...

How safe is anything that big a 1/4" from the fan? One nice hard shift and there goes the fan in pieces. Well, at least eventually it would. Nice setups though. What about a twin turbo for the 3.0L V6? Thats what Im waiting for!
