I am bored so this weekend I am probably gonna start to reupholster my interior, not paint.

What do you think would look good on a metallic grey pearl G as an interior?

What parts do you think I should do and what parts are too many? Want to make it comfortable but not overwhelming.
Parts I was thinking about doing:

Headliner
Front and Rear Seats
Center Console
Dash
Doors
Rear Deck

Also toss in a good shifter knob with your color suggestions.

Thanks for your advice whoever give it and
also doing this weekend lower grill in wire mesh maybe the upper 2 parts also
and spraying the fogs yellow to give them that jdm fun look.

Also tips for pulling pieces out would help im pretty certain though and if i dont know i can figure it out.

Also accepting exterior suggestions and some decently low priced performance upgrades. For future projects.

Yeah I was figuring black I dont know if I want to do blue as an accent or to just keep it simple and do black with a grey accent

I'll keep you all posted on how it comes the reason I want to do it is cause I just reupholstered the couch in my room and did a good job so I was like hmmm car.

Hey man. I'm doing my interior right now, thought I could give some advice :)

I did my doors in vinyl, which is like faux leather, it looks great, really stylish, but it's kinda thick so it takes some manhandling to get right, but I personally like it. Just don't use it on something that has a lot of turns and such.

Also, don't buy the lowes "Plastic Enamel" it sucks. Use engine enamel, with adhesion promotor and clearcoat, that will give you a long lasting finish on interior plastic.

Be patient, and break it up into sections. "OK this week I'll do the center console. Next week I'll do the doors" something like that, or you will go insane trying to go back and forth and you'll have a bunch of unfinished projects and possibly lower quality work.

Just my $.02, hopefully this helps a bit :)

Oh fabric you can find at walmart, engine enamel and adhesion promotor at autozone/checkers/etc

You don't have to have adhesion promoter if you don't want to because engine enamel works very well on it's own.

Check out my interior, its black with silver trim. Dont use the fabric from Wal-mart on the seats because it will wear faster than fabric made for upholstery. Try to find some real upholstery fabric you'll thank me in the long run.

If need any help let me know.

I just sprayed engine enamel on freshly removed air ducts... didn't stick well at all. I washed em thoroughly. IDK, maybe it's just my pieces. Gonna sand, prime, then retry engine enamel.

yea i just started finishing up my interior painting the stuff that is still tan,you gadda really clean the parts or youll get like little tan spot fisheyes in some of the not so clean spots that get alot or grease and dirt on them alot. i use the degressing spray you use for doing body work on mine to get off all the grease then just lay down light coats till it all covered.

Well the bumper is off and im trying to figure out how to put the mesh on the top to keep it there and how I want the mesh to lay.

The seats are out all except the rear top piece, I took out the 4 or 5 bolts in the bottom and got the clips out of the trunk but it wont come off any suggestions?

Found out one of my fog housings are burnt may be buying new ones from spdracr so the yellow stained fogs are on hold for now, I was looking at my headlight and they look weird, I was working in the dark and didn't take a pic but the headlight didnt look like the normal twist and pull out bulb it had clips and such so I left that as is.

Gonna do the seats tomorrow I took the covers off and everything and now its time to sew on the fabric, I dont have a sewing machine but I am awesome with hand sewing ;)

Probably gonna have the driver seat and the bumper done tomorrow more to come later I'll leave my car gutted except for the seat.

Pics to come later.

Thanks for all the advice thus far.

Projects to start in january:
Exhaust
CAI?
few other minor performance mods maybe.

Hand sewing, good luck. If you can get a sewing machine get one, not the plastic kind from Wal-Mart. I got a German made Pfaff sewing machine with a 1/2 hp motor. It can sew through 4 layers of leather and prolly human skin and bone cause the motor weighs about 50lbs. Your also going to need some hog rings and hog ring pliers, so you can attach the covers back to the foam.

When you take apart the seat covers, iron them flat and sew your new fabric over them. Its going to hard to foam backed upholstery fabric in the color or pattern you want. Make sure you mark the alingment of the pieces to cause I did and had a hard time trying to piece them back together.
