ok I tonight I was driving behind this Toyota Avalong.. the older model but not sure what year though... guessing 97-00?? I dunno.. but anyway we were at the stop light and i came up behind it and noticed that it has a very strong similarity to the JDM taillights for the galant like the 1g ones.. like how the turn signals are, the back up lights and the brake/parking lights looks too when they are on... u guys think the wiring and bulb sockets are the same ones used for the JDM lights? or can even fit with our galants??? just a though

the harness is jsut wires. so yea, the location and shapeof the tails have nothing to do with the sockets. ur best bet is to take the taillight to the junkyard or the auto parts store and find a bulb and socket that will fit and make your own harness...

Your observation would be correct if it were for a 2002 Avalon. The 2002 Avalon uses the same setup as the 2002 Maxima. 7440 bulb for the turn, 7443 for stop and tail. Just switch the 7440 for use on the Galant's reverse and you're good to go. In fact, I'm going to do just that. Nissan is all out of sockets so I'm headed to Toyota now.
