It's a little complicated, but like Ruslik said: take your time, and you can make it happen. The how-to was lost for awhile then reposted on galantforums.

Here's the thread:

can someone explain me why r u guys use to change our Intake Manifold for that one from the Mitsubishi Outlander.......
I know there are some difference with the size and I expect that is because you can gain more hp...!!!
is that right?!?!??!
and how much hp can you increase with the Outlander Intake Manifold...?!?!?
ps: sorry for my ignorance but if I dont ask.... I never goin to LEARN....

Why:
The OEM 99-03 galant de/es 4cyl intake manifolds are known to crack due to wear and vibration which causes vacuum leaks and for those with turbo, boost leaks. The leaks cause driving issues like poor gas mileage, stalling and increased emissions.
not sure if there are any significant whp gains?!

perfectly stated :)
i get better throttle response with the Outlander Intake Manifold, and don't have to worry about the IM cracking like the stock manifolds do (*cough*krispy*cough  )
not too sure if i get any HP gains from the modification though :?

es_fact: i bought underrated's Intake Manifold for about $400 (everything was already setup, just had to change one of the harness pins that connect to the manifold.
