Plastic piece to hold the door open

The black plastic piece that covers the door hinge that goes into the door cracked and completely broke because of the cold weather and now my door doest stay open it closes by itself lol...i dont know how to go about changing this shit nor do i kno if the dealer even sells this piece...has this happened to anyone?

My drivers side door is broken too, I never contacted the dealer about it. Its a huge pain when your trying to clean your car or get something out of it. Anyone know where to get one or how to fix it?

Dealership and https://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html have them for about $20.00. I got mine, i just haven't had a chance to put it on yet. I think you just take off the door panel and unbolt it and bolt in the new one.

i need one too my driver side door one broke, ur saying that the plastic part that goes over the metal needs to have the door panel removed to fix it? how does that work?

I'm not sure. i haven't tried to replace it yet, that's just what i heard on here. I will know for sure tomorrow or Tuesday when i get time to do it.

Yea its freezing out here so im not gunna bother until it gets a little warmer out....i thought i was the only one this happened to lol...ive unbolted the piece on my last car to remove my doors but never replaced it...if i go to the dealer will it cast $20 from them too or should i order it off the site chucktown refered?

Yeah i replaced my front 2 a few months ago. Junkyard sold me both for $5 sooo id check there first.

Real easy to replace. The two bolts to the door and two bolts to the frame. Then take off your door cover, unscrew speaker, and just reach up and grab the hinge.

**And just as reference because i tried this as well without thinking, but the two back hinges do NOT fit on the front. For some odd reason i thought they did but def not, it doesnt shut all the way.

Mine were really dark and I just wet sanded them down to where thy are now. Added 2 coats of clear but still haven't buff them out yet.
