Hey guys i heard on the board that a 95-99 eclipse lower tie bar can fit our cars. i order this lower tie bar and i wanted to know if it would fit? Its only $40 so its a better than most places.

Ive also seen that many people have been looking for this. I hope this is the correct one and that it fits right.

Yup, that'll fit perfect.

I got a Pilot on my car. I didn't know Tenzo made one or else I would have gotten that one, heck I might still get it.

I knew obx makes them and those fit too.

Installation is easy, just get it nice and tight and you'll love the response your car will have. Try spinning your car as fast as you can from a dead stop, it's crazy the improvements in handling you'll receive.

yeah is it hard to install???....i got a upper front strut bar....Might as well upgrade the ol' suspension for $40

Install is as easy as taking a nut off, putting the tie bar in place, and putting the nuts back on.

Less then 10 minutes.

Make sure you jack up your car first, to make sure you release the stress first. After that then you take off the nut put it on and screw the nuts back on. exactly the same as if you were installing the Strut tower bar.

But WHERE is this nut that your removing? To what item on the suspension does the bar mount to? Doesnt the rear suspension have a giant steel crossmember running the width of the car, how much more support could you give something?

ok..do you see those giant steel crossmember running the width of the car...if im thinking about what your thinking those are lower control arms. the lower tie bar connect those 2 control arms together to make them into 1 and with that securing them together so if one sides pulls the other pulls back therefore its stable..

I figured, by the name, that that is what they mount to, however arent they already held together by the crossmember? Or is there some rubber bushing in there that allows them to do whatever they want independently. under the car towards the rear, u know how the new civics, when u look at them, they have that bar going across......kevin had a pic, i'll have to look it up, but its relatively simple to install

i dunno about u but i wouldn't cral under my car unless it was jacked up adn supported properly. if it wasn't i wouldn't have room to move...

well how else would you do it.. you say you would have no room to move then of course you would have to get your car up some how. i dont mean to use the shitty jack that comes with your car. get one of those jacks that they use at a tire flat place where they fix flats or to go a local garage and put it up on the lift. but reguardless if u want this installed you gotta get that shit up in the air to work with it somehow.

This is correct.

But, I don't think you should raise the car. Cuz if you do, the control arms won't have any resistance on them and they'll move out of place, so when you set the car down, the bar will either keep it from being where it should be, or it'll bend. (This is just my theory.) We did it with the car at it's normal height on the ground and it seems to have vastly improved the handling.

Rear Tie Bar

Rear tie bars increase the strength of your rear cross member, and adds rigidity to your frame. They bolt up to the bolts that hold on the rear lower arms. When installing, jack up the car, and remove the wheels. Take the bolts out of the rear lower arm that connect it to the cross member. Install the tie bar. Retorque the rear arms to 71 ft. lb.. torque the wheels to 85 ft. lb.. Drive the car around a few hard corners, and re-torque the lower arms. Get the rear toe of your car aligned as soon as possible. Re torque your wheels after 50 miles. Pilot Motorsports makes this bar, and Neuspeed is producing one soon.

Interesting, but I'm sure that after you drop the car and re-torque, it'll be the same as not lifting it at all, but I could be wrong, never hurts to do extra work to take pre-cautions.

im waiting for all the snow to melt and it gets warmer before i even attempt to install this. dont need it scraping up all the snow when i drive.
