Hey guys needed a new poll, RedGalant2k1 told me to just make a new thread, so seems like March 14th or March 21'st is the best dates to have a meet, the weather is supposed to be nice on both weekends, most likely the meet will take place in Oxford at a Park with a Gazebo and a big parking lot where it will be just us, only thing im worried about is possibility of pot holes for the slammed g's so ill check it out tomorrow, the other place would be the Post Road in Milford, this area will have a indoor parking lot that we can hang at if the weather goes the opposite way for us. If its in Oxford then yes to the BBQ if its in Milford most likely Hooters! (.)V(.) so ill post a poll up again, closes thursday so get your votes in the event of a BBQ the list of whos bringing what is below

we were gonna drive to the meet in boston and im sure we will do it this summer so you should come down.. usually me and gabe are the ones driving 2 hrs to go to meets in NY and NJ so it would be nice to see more people drive and some of the ny nj guys were coming to that meet before the bad weather and they had to drive a good 4 or 5 hrs.. itll be worth it and trust me you will want to drive to the corona park meet in june down in NY and thats like 5 hrs for you

if its on the 21st, and from the poll it looks like it will be, i'll be there.. if anyone wants to cruise down from Boston, i'm game to do that (i live on the North Shore) otherwise my parents live in Western MA like 1 1/2 hours from the meet so i may just go from there.. but like i said if people wanna cruise, that would be a good way to go..

other than that i can definitely bring something.. hit up the local BJs.. if we're all set with the major food groups (i.e. burgers and dogs) then i can probably bring side dishes like potato salad and good things like that.. i can bring whatever so just let me know whats needed..

silly question, are there grills at this place or are people bringing some? i dunno if my charcoal grill will fit in my trunk (the DVD player for my navigation is in the most inconvenient place in my trunk haha)

i'll see if i can find any other 9g guys to come as well!

we are going to scope out 3 places or more to see what they have and we are looking for a place with grills and no speed bumps so we dont mess up our cars or at least really tiny speed bumps lol.. but some ppl have those little grills and it they wanna bring them just in care then they can feel free to bring anything even food

thanks for the willingness to help guys.. i'm not even sure if i'll get the springs in time.. if they dont arrive tomorrow i wont be home to get them on Saturday but i'll keep everyone posted.. as far as the instal, i'm not sure how different the 9g suspension is but heres what a few guys on club9g had to say:

"the top nut which holds the spring mount and strut together will be a pain without an impact gun. maybe you can just go to a gas station shop to have that nut loosen and re tighten with the new spring on. just bring the struts.

all you need is a breaker bar, sockets, and a long ass pipe. everything will come off. the longer your steel pipe is the better. "

"i say imapact gun because some bolts just wont crack! other then ratchets etc..theres really nothing more..ACTUALLY!

get your hands on a breaker bar and some bolt loosener..wd40 etc..something deff stronger tho...goto autozone and oyu should find some high quality shitzit"

Impact guns have a certain amount of torque in my opinion nothing is as strong as a good long bar.

The nut on the top of the strut all you need to do is crack it while the strut is still in place but dont take it off then take it off after you compress the springs.

The dude on ebay didnt pay me yet so I dont know if I will have my tires in time I might have to roll in on a Grand Marquis if I plan on coming or be a bit late and get my tires tomorrow morning somewhere

thanks for the offer Gabe... i've got a friend around here who should have all of the equipment or i've got a garage that i work on our $500 Porsche that I go to on weekends that has a lift and everything... would it be easy enough for me to figure out how to do it on my own? i feel like i get the general idea i.e. take apart everything switch the springs and put it back together like i found it..

the only thing i'm waiting for is figuring out if i need to get some camber bolts and how those work..?

if you dont have experience with suspension here are some tips.

Prop up the the front wheel as they drop once strut is taken out. When it drops if you dont prop it it will most likely pull the axle out which isnt a hard thing to do its just an inconvenience.

Have some one hold down the rear wheels when you pull the shock out as it will pop up its not too dangerous but it hurts if it hits. Then you most likely need a second set of hands to hold down the rear wheels to toss in the shock.

Thats how it is on the 8G at least so I figured I would give you the advice just in case.

you shouldnt if your wheels wont tuck camber kits are easy enough do springs go have alignment checked and see if its within spec.
