I'm in the process of buidling a 4G64 turbo. The block/crankshaft and fly wheel have been machined already. I'm waiting on the balancing to be done because I'm elimminating the balance shafts then reassembling the engine. Some parts in the build:

Manley rods/piston 8.5:1 ratio
Cometic HG/ arp head studs
Mitsu TDO6-20g
2g manifold
Punishment racing SS O2 housing 38mm ext wastegate recirculated
Tial Sport 38mm wastegate
STM -6AN FUEL RETURN KIT, FPR & GAUGE
Walboro 255
FIC 650's
Front Mount intercooler
4G64 oil pan with welded fitting for turbo oil return
Act 2100
Southbend Full kevlar face disc
Alot of misc. stuff
1G/2G turbo parts (like crushed 1G BoV)
Some stuff I prob missed

I still need the tuning stuff (the end of this month):
Egt
Wideband O2
Pocket logger
Boost gauge
Maft gen 2
J&S ultrasafeguard

Plan is to drop the engine back in at 8.5:1 (gonna suck with such crap power)bolting factory exhaust manifold, injectors, exhaust, etc. putting 500 miles on the motor (making sure the engine is in good shape after the rebuild), then bolting on the turbo stuff and begin the headache of tuning.

Sweet build! What is the part number for the pistons you used for the 4G64 application?

613005C-4 Mitsubishi 4G64 w/ 4G63 Head 95-99 .866"/22mm x 2.250" Pin

All though it says with 4G63 head, the 4G64 SOHC head and 4G63 DOHC have the same volume, believe it or not.

wow...I thought the 64 had a larger diameter bore than the 63. You haven't dropped the built motor in yet right? I wanted to get your opinion.

Yes the bore is bigger, but the 4G63 DOHC head and SOHC head have the same volume in cc's.

613005C-4 87 +.5mm 5.905" 3.937" 1.375" -23.5 8.5:1 Dish TBA 46870-4

I'm using the +.5mm overbore

As fas i know 63 head has smaller cambers than 64 head. Thats why it raises the compression ratio to 10.

I was thinking of getting eclipse pistons with 1.5mm overbore .....85.0mm + 1.5mm = 86.5mm /4g64 bore/ and just hone the block

The piston and/or headgasket thickness is what they are using for compression differences. My stock compression is 9.5:1 on my 4G64 SOHC. You can read this topic, its in their somewhere about the sohc and dohc having the same chamber volume, but I'm to lazy to read all of it again. http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31111

A little update, I got the rotating assembly back for the machine shop. I installed the crankshaft, rods & pistons (the Manley rods came with ARP 2000 bolts). I used tri-metal bearings (cp series) from clevite for rods/crankshaft. I ordered new factory crankshaft bolts, some think ARP's are better (they are stronger for sure), but after researching the factory crankshaft bolts have a shoulder at the top that keeps the bearing cap/girdle from shifting, ARP's have a little play in them. I also put my battery relocation box in the van, I ordered a optima battery to use, still need to run the wire though. Cleaned the gasket off the oil pump housing assembly today (what a pita), going to install it tomorrow. As long as the weather holds out everything else should come together rather quickly now. Updated the pics on cardomain.

Installed the oil pump housing and cylinder head today. Took a few mock up pics with the intake and turbo stuff on. I got some pics up here of the mock up http://www.mitsu-media.com/showthread.php?t=1985&page=3
