I have not powered it yet. That is the amount of airspace need for that sub. It it s a JL 13TW5, it only needs .8 of a cubic foot.

That is what I have been thinking after I got it all put together. I am going to wait till I get the grill for the sub first because the JL grill stick up. If I do not like it then I guess I need to go buy some more vinyl.

I love the way you mounted that sub!! I've been thinking about doing a set up similar to that in the Galant, but trying to figure out a way to lose the torsion bars and motorize the trunk to open up.

Wow that is awesome,
The only problem I see if that big sub will overpower those 6x9 and you might not even hear them when the sub is going.
Bigmoneyday - the same hoodshocks that people bought for the 8g hood can also be used for the trunk, ask Jay they gave him special instructions cause the measurements have to be on point for it to work.

wow looks great i just wonder how its gonna sound. if it sounds really good i might be tempted to try something similar on my 8g

Well I thought about it long and hard and the more I looked at it the more I did not like it. I think it will look better with the 6"x9"s flush mounted like the sub so I pulled it all out. I took off the vinyl and cut the 6x9 holes bigger and re did the vinyl. Tomorrow I get to put it all back together.

LMAO! Maybe, one day... What did you use to cut the deck? Dremel, Reciprocating saw? Does that not weaken the unibody frame construction? Tutorial FTW or FAIL!

I was wondering where this post had went. Glad I finally found it again. Man that install still looks clean as hell. I was thinking about removing my back seat and doing a different style setup. But now after seeing this, I think I'm going to attempt doing 2 or 3 10's across the rear deck. About to go outside and take some measurements now. Thanks for posting this up.
