Lol had so many issues each strut/shock took us about 20 mins but both my sway bar links were shot so had to pick those up and my fucking upper strut mount bolt split in half while we were torquing we started at 11 finished at 430 and I had to drive a total of 40 away miles to get different parts so I could finish it today then the 40 miles back so it held us up.

Gotta love the lowered look.

What size tire are you running though? The sidewall looks a bit small or maybe you just need to add some air...

Anyways, enjoy!

Running 215/40/18 which is 10mm less then recommended on width but the height looks like that cause shes been sitting all winter.

Looks good! The drop is just right.

Thanks when she was finally on all 4s it felt so good to see my work paid off

how is the ride quality?

Dont have seats in her right now so we just cruised around block a bit but she corners sharp and its a little rigid but comfy.

Nice... What did you use? tein and what kind of struts?

Teins with GR2s in rear and excel Gs in front put in 2 new sway bar links upgraded the thickness a bit and she is such a peach.

03-07-2009, 07:20 PM
Well did you put in new struts or not I am not sure of how much it lowered I have been running around so much today I would estimate 1.7 front and about 1.2 rears but I have no weight in car right now no seats or anything and also I am on 18s not sure if you are so that may cause it to look different and my struts are getting worn in there are a lot of factors I am a 4cyl which is lighter if you got a 6cyl also

03-Galant-ES
03-07-2009, 07:25 PM
ground clearance from ground to bumper is about 7 inches if that helps

Yeah like I said mine has 7inches of ground clearance from ground to bottom of bumper in the pic u see its at the end of my driveway where drive way slopes down.

wait u drove the car without seats?

yeah isnt it sad that im tall enough to see well over the dash too? Drove it around the block its a big circle.

You're gunna love it! Make sure you adjust that tire pressure.. Next step os to clean up those brakes and maybe some new wheels.. Oh yeah, all my sway bar links are poop too.. I'm about to change the rear ones when I have a day off.. Along with my inner tie rods..

03-Galant-ES
03-08-2009, 01:36 AM
new wheels i think is next step then maybe rear disc swap with some cross drilled all around then since she can handle the power I'll start dropping money on it...change ecu for 5spd maybe a nice turbo with evo head stroked 2.3L Over time something will happen

you might wanna save up for some aftermarket struts because I wouldnt be surprised if the oem's go bad.

looks good. I've decided never to lower the G. Its stock height now maybe slightly lower because of the 205/40/17 tyres and I scrape on shit. You guys have muche better roads hehe

i doubt that. my 17's raised my car. even with the rubber bands for tires you have won't lower it much.

ohh the car looks 100x better, but do the disk swap. nothing sexier than looking at disks rather than rusty drums

I agree I just did my disk swap a few weeks ago and it looks so much better. My drums were complete rust which looks like shit.

Then paint the calipers and get drilled/slotted rotors all around and it would look good.

Well I have brand new struts on there and I'll probably throw some AGXs on if they do go bad but I like how it is for now.

What do you scrape on the only thing I need to worry about is drive ways I get like a 1 inch clearance at idle lol.

Thanks yeah disk swap will be coming at some point more for show then stopping she stops fine.

Lol so are mine I have to clean my brakes the dust settled since shes been sitting for 3 months so she squeaks when I hit the brakes

Then paint the calipers and get drilled/slotted rotors all around and it would look good.

Thanks I didnt choose the rims came with car from auction ;) But Yeah I was going for a stock look I dont want to attract attention of assholes at school or police.

So I tossed the seat in my G today ad I was cruising in a 40 mph speed zone next thing I know I am doing 60 without feeling the difference :o She just feels so much tighter and grippier. Then again I was used to driving her with shot sway bar links so it is a completely different monster now love it.
