Hi, First time poster here.

just like the title says, I recently installed some Tein S lowering springs on my Mitsubishi Galant 2003 and I don't like the way it bounces now. Specially when I go above 60mph and I hit a rough road. I've been told that I need new shock absorbers but I really don't know which ones to get. I looked at the KYB Gr-2 shocks and I spoke with the Technical support. He said I could buy them and it would help my ride not bounce that much but that I might not get the "original" feeling I use to have before I lowered my car. He also mention that I could trim the foam boot on my original shocks and that, that would help but I'm not sure what he was talking about. So right now I'm in a dilemma. I want to keep my car low cause I like the way it looks but I also want to restore the way it drives.

If I get the KYB AGX...would that stop the bouncyness?
I'm really thinking of installing the old springs. It didn't bounce before like it does now. I've only had the springs on for about 1 week. My car has 46000 miles and I rarely drive more then 15 miles at a time... By the way...I haven't seen AGX shocks for the Galant 2003 but I've seen some people use them. how did you get them?

The AGX's you've seen people use are made for the 2000-2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse (3G). The chassis is the same, and the strut bolts right in our cars. The AGX struts are designed for lowered vehicles, and will or rather should help from some of the bouncy feel. The 'foam boot' is actually called a bump stop. It is designed to prevent the struts from bottoming out and potentially causing a hazard with the strut. Here is what a bump stop looks like:

(Note: The yellow piece is the bump stop. It can be removed, or cut in half.)

thanks for the reply redgalant...so these should fit my galant no problem right? Does it matter which eclipse it's made for?

do you know where I can get them for a little bit cheaper?

Also, do I need to buy new bump stops or do these new shocks come with it? Sorry just like my board description says...I'm a newbie.

i just bought my AGXs from performancepeddler.com, probably the best price on the internet, free shipping. i am getting them for the same reason, i bounce like a madman and my rear GR-2s and stock fronts are the culprit
