Window Tint Poll

Hello everyone out there with window tint. I am gettin my whip tinted b4 may, and i am trying to decide on what type of tint. I can't find anywhere online that will show what i'm lookin for. I've seen cars with a tint that looks like it has a silver mist or haze over it. Anyone have it or any pics?? thanks for your help in advance!

thats the really glossy type blackish tint with a hint mirror u are talking about?... thats the tint with the titanium lining, just mention that at the shop

Well, I personally like just the charcoal(black) tint. I have 35% on my white G.

i have 35% on mine, check out my sig for pics. I like it alot, I wish to get it a bit darker later, but at least its legal, best way to do is stay legal, but its up to you

I had 20% black tint all around but got pulled over for it because it was to dark, so I got it retinted at 35% with platinum tint which is real nice. It has that silver gloss to it and it also takes the color of your car alittle. my galant is green and this tint has a silver/greenish look to it. I would definitly go with the platinum tint.

I have 20% mirror tint all around. Haven't got pulled over yet for it, but I have inspection this month. Of course I'll fail again and pay an extra $20 so he'll pass me. I just called my local shop about tinting also, first I asked about metalized tinting but they wouldn't give me a life time warranty due to the fact that it scratches to much. But they will give me a warranty for normal tinting. Does anyone have this metalize tinting, does it really scratch easy?

I have mine tinted with the mirror all the way around on my red Galant. It looks very nice especially with chrome wheels. As far as scratching goes, I don't think it's any different from regular tint. As a matter of fact, this one girl tried to scratch up my passenger side with her fingernails after I kicked her ass out of my car on Crenshaw, and there were no scratches left in it. I do have one little scratch though and that was from the edge of a screwdriver when I was installing my handsfree system in the car and like a dumbass, I wasn't paying attention to where I had my hand and accidentally caught the window with the edge. But like I said, I don't think it's any easier to scratch them then it is to scratch regular tint

My guy gave me a lifetime warranty for my mirror tint as long as I own my car. I have a big scratch in the rear driver side, but no big deal, I'll get it fixed eventually...you can't noticed it from the outside. Mirror tint is a bitch to put in. I heard the guy swearing up a storm because of the scratching and wrinkling when trying to install it. He didn't think it would be much of a problem, but I was the first one to buy it off him. When they mirrored my sunroof, they did a crappy job, but no one will notice...a lot of lines in it.

I got 25% limo black all around, day time seems the front is lighter than the back. but inside just like a lil light smoked glass. I love it so far. Pulled over for tinted window: 3 times :roll:

thats funny that u should say that, i remember a few months ago, reelax said he bought a new set of windows for his car. come inspection time, he said he switches his windows out for one without tint since he can't get his car retitnted with the same tint hahaha

yup i have 1 set of tinted fronts and one set of clear fronts... the tint i have is discontinued so i don't want to take it off. so yeah i have to switch windows for inspection. it's just a huge hassle... but i'm not giving up this tint... i like it way too much. even thought the rear window color is illegal, i don't really get stopped as much for it as the front windows. in california, you cannot tint any windows forward of the driver's shoulders.

shane isnt it illegal to have the tint on windshield,, and can i see your car pic,, i never seen pic of your ride...

Also, i forgot to mention that i have no choice but to go legal. So whatever i get, it's gotta be no lower than 33%. That's my delima. I want to black all of em out minus the winshield, but my folks wont have it. So what would look good w/ 35%? The only colors illegal here are yellow and red.
