255 and 245 seam very wide, some people have to roll their fenders to even fit 235. Not 100% sure though

so they might, might not basically...w/e i might go for em they're both outrageously cheap!

you're gonna have to roll them cause any bump u will rub your fender like a bitch.

If you rolled your fenders and I mean alot you could fit the 255/40/17 cause the total height would be about 25.03 inches which is close enough to stock height but they will stick out

If you're going to 18s and u want the huge size I would say 255/35/18 which in total height is 25.02

The 245/40/18 is too big height wise. The 245/35/18 is too small you can fit either I believe since 245/40 would be about 215/45/18 in height and 245/35/18 would be smaller then stock on sixteens in overall height but will probably work just look a bit small

I am pretty sure you would end up spending more making it a wide enough body to fit the 255 or 245

To completely fit 255 with the correct offset I believe you would have to make your fenders about 1.2inches wider then stock and you make rub if you turn on full lock. So you need to turn less and probably slower IMHO not worth it on a daily.

P.S. I did all calculations myself so I would double check everything I just know that 225 is 8.85inches and 255 is 10.03 which is why I said you need to roll about 1.2 inches would look legit though but like I said too much of a hastle for a daily

245 will fit with some considerable fender rolling/cutting, depending on the offset, how deep you wanna drop your car, and how much camber you wanna run. If you wanna buy new tires all the time, then you can dump it down and run a ton of - camber, if not, go with a narrower tire, I'm running 235s on a 38 offset wheel all the way around, I'm -1 degree camber all around, my rear fenders have the inner lips completely cut out, my fronts are rolled, I'm pretty low on megan coilovers, hope this helps

I was gonna tell him to pm you cause i knew you were running 235s. Glad you posted here Greddy.

the 17's are +30 offset, 17 x 8.5 with 255/40/17 tires....what's the chances...

offset is too low I would say stick to 38-45

You'll have to roll your fenders even more on offset 30 and then also you will cause more strain on your suspension as your wheels are situated further out.

The tires should clear the body just fine, but will be a problem based on the width. The 255/40-17 overall height is 25.03" which is perfectly adequate as far as the height goes. The original tire width (assuming you had 205s) is 8.07", the 255s overall width is 10.03". A full TWO INCHES wider.

I'd guess with a +30mm offset (which is pretty aggressive on our cars), it should fit (but stick out). You will have to cut out the rear fender lips for sure, even at stock height most likely, especially with that low of an offset. You will have to flare the rear wheel arches if you lowered the car, considerably.

as a bolt on application w/ no further modifications? no. if you lower and camber correct, you clearance problems will be even worse. they CAN fit if you are willing to do major modifications to body panels. if you do not want to do modifications, stick to 7.5"-8" wide, +36mm to +46mm offset (dependent on wheel width) and 225mm wide tires.

There you go 3 members saying pretty much the same thing stick to 225 possible 235 if you want more aggressive then just do what Greddy did. I am 225 and my camber is pretty much stock maybe a little on the negative and I think ive only rubbed a little on the inside at full lock of steering.

With the offset that height I think you could rub at the back with the shock mine are +42 7.5 and they are really close.

hmmm 20mm spacers would cure it!

A +51mm offset 'could' rub in the front strut. Though with only a 7" wide wheel, you *may* clear it.

hmmm well if it helps at all my old +48 7.5" with 235 only rubbed at full lock

Thats right a spacer can fix that but just make sure and tried them on before buying and check them on the inside for cracks.

16x7 +51 205/50r16? that's tiny!

i'll do the math for you. compared to your old wheels (18x7.5 +48mm 235/40r18):

the new wheel will have 3mm more clearance on the suspension side and 9mm more clearance on the fender side. the new tire will be 1.3" shorter and 1.2" narrower.
