Hello Guys!

I’m from Brazil and I have a problem to buy on eBay some parts for my 1999 Galant VR because the engine is a little bit different. It is a V6 - 2.5 L - 24 Valves and I don’t find that kind of specification. I’ve seen that there are V4 -2.0 and 2.4 or V6 – 3.0.

Does somebody know which Galant’s engine parts match with mine? Maybe the 3.0 V6?!

I’m looking for timing belt, spark plugs, air filter…

Thanks!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_6A_engine#6A13

its this. according to wiki, only used in galant vr-4's so have a look for compatible parts to your 6A13

id bet both testicles parts are rare

go to the dealer for the timing belt and just bring your old airfilter to an autoshop and they should have a replament, doubt its vr-4 specific

the air filter you can get anywhere really beit a parts store or online... for spark plugs try ngk.com without the engine model # cant halp much on the T belt but it does sound like you have the 6A13 as stated, is it a turbo model? that would confirm it

Most part stores there should have that stuff. I'm sure you guys have at least one dealer you can call for OEM part numbers. Many of those OEM #'s can be cross-reffed by your local parts store. It just depends. I know NAPA does a good job of cross-referencing OEM part numbers. But I doubt you guys have NAPA's down there :)

Yeah, that is the engine model...6A13. Thank you, JoeRad!

I’ll do it and see what happens...but the problem is the Galant parts prices over here because there aren’t a lot of dealers working with it and Mitsubishi Store “kills you”...an example is sparks plugs = U$400...that is the main reason for me to try find it on ebay...

Fatal1, It's 6A13 but not a turbo model. I've seen ngk.com and the kind of Galant engine over there are V6-3.0L-FI-L(H) and L4-2.4L-F1-4G64. The T belt really is a big problem!

WarmAndSCSI, I know what you mean but it's not so easy to find and when you finally do it some prices of Galant parts are unbelievable over here. :-)

This engine

If so its not a VR, its just a V624V 6A13 n/a, try camskill.co.uk, I know they are in the uk but that engine was used in most of the Galants over in the uk and europe

Yes Kyleg, thanks! That's the same engine of mine. I've been searching and over here there are only two kinds of Galants: 2.0 SS - 4G63 and 2.5 VR - 6A13

The interesting thing is that I found the code of the NGK spark plug of my 6A13...PFR6G-11... and it's the same on V6 - 3.0 - FI.

Take a look!

Yep thats the plugs you need for them, also the air filter

If you wish, you could go for this one as it works well with the 6A13 engine, but more expensive

Oil filter, although I would double check this fits, its 6a13 VR-4, but it should fit the n/a

Yeah, I think that’s the air filter! Thanks a lot!

The oil filter is not a problem anymore because it is the same of Honda Civic besides there are a lot over here and those are cheap.

Now the big problem is the T belt…

OH yes thats a 6A13, I have one in mine...
Bear in mind that I live in the UK and really we only get two types of galant here, the 6a13, 2.5 24v v6 or the VR-4 Turbo model. Even in Europe parts for these are very hard to locate..
You can however find universal parts that should fit...
I do know that you can get a pipercross panel filter for it, (PP1507) normally about £30.00 have no idea how much that works out.
Plugs now that is a different story, if anyone knows where to get these please let me know...

EH? what about the 2.0 GLS and the 2.4GDI???

Andy, dont bother with a pipercross, get the K&N filter I posted above, the spark plugs are widely used in a different cars, they dont make a specific Galant plug.
You have a few choices, go to Mitsi, they will sell them at a price
Go to a Motorfactors, NOT Halfords
Order them online
Go to any of these and search for NGK PFR6G-11
Found here

Or here which is cheaper again

Kyleg, yeah fair go, I have a very limited view (Dont think hats a good thing)
your right we do have 2.0 and 2.4, but in all honesty I have only seen 1 gdi and that was in a breakers yard...
You mention K&N, panel or induction kit like the old 57i stuff?
I gave uo with halfords a long time ago, prior to my v6 I had a c5 hdi, even getting the parts for that from halfods was difficult... bloody place...

Actually you all might like this..

Buy from camskill, or motorfactors should have everything you need. You wont see many GDI`s as they werent that good

the K&N panel filter is probably the best for the Galants, I would put anything other than that in the standard airbox, prooven to be the best system

Rear arches commonly go on them, buy the them from germany

And again, dont usse Halfords, just go to camskill, or go to a local motorfactors, search the yelllow pages for motorfactors, or auto factors
