i was wanting to buy a hid conversion kit and ive read that the DDMs are a good brand but take a while until you receive them. im needing some before friday the 22nd and ive seen some on ebay. my question is, are the 30-50 dollar kits a good buy or should i stick with something like these...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit-H4-6000K-Galant-99-00-01-02-03_W0QQitemZ150344034687QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item230133e97f&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1171%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A131 8

i know the saying "you get what you pay for". any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the xentec kit that i purchased from supervtec on ebay, the product was great for about 3 days...then it took a shit and I have been trying so hard to get him to send me another kit and he will not. he keeps playing fucking games and wont honor his warranty so stay away from him!!! DDM also has 3 day shipping and overnight I think...

I would stick with the wait and spend the extra dough to go with something more trustworthy.

Why do you need them by the 22nd?

DDM...Never had issues with these, yes the shipping took a while, but the product is worth it & wont die out on you in couple days/months. Do you want an item which last a long time, or just something you can have by your deadline?

me and my girl are going to our home town, its about a 5 1/2 hr drive. about 3 of those hrs are gonna be traveling at night, down long country roads. my halogens dont really cut it.

thats why i was asking if the cheap ones would work cuz i was thinking of just getting those and then ordering some good ones when i get back.

I got my DDMs in about 5 days... but they do have fast shipping options.. now considering I'm in Canada lol.. it only took 5 days... you should test them out and see whats up.. ifnot.. highbeams :)

IceDouTGaLanT
05-18-2009, 12:06 AM
well he cant have high beams unless he goes JDM heads, Stock h4 bulbs have high/lo. You can reuse the ballast and just end up buying new bulbs from the site above that way you make your trip on the 22nd, and have high beams but remember your spending double.

i just looked up DDM kits and i guess i can get hi/low for additional $25 and 3 or even 2 day shipping and still spend under $100. does anyone know if the RAPTOR kit is a good one?

es_fact
05-18-2009, 12:12 AM
lol.. yes, but i meant just straight out stock highs without installing cheap HID or any HID lol.. although i did have an HID kit with little HIGH penut bulbs.. lol.. i broke them on install but thats beside the point...

i've never used the raptor, you can try it or buy what many have which is the DDM brand.

to get the same color as HID you will need LED switchbacks...they shine blue or white but when your blinker is activated they are amber.

hey i dunno if everything was taken care of and you all ready ordered but i know in my area there are people who sell kits locally via craigslist.. you could check to see if there are any local people selling the kit you're looking at that way you wouldn't need to wait for shipping

I got mine off ebay from hidwholesale88. they look absolutely gorgeous. i got the bi-zenon heads and the regular fogs, both in 6000k. used to have 8000k.

as far as mounting the ballasts for the fogs, on the driver side, there is a metal bracket just chillin behind the bumper, so i zip tied it to that. as far on the passenger side, i zip tied it to some wiring harnesses.

i'll get pics when i can, especially since i need to update my sig and since i just got my car detailed

well i ordered my kit. i went with the h4 hi/low 6000k 35w. ive read that it takes forever to receive them so i payed a lil extra and did the 2 day air. hope i get them by friday. i also ordered some switchbacks and the resistors.

They are very accurate with the time they quote, they told me about 10 days.. and i had them on the tenth day...

I'm about to order a set of HID's for my fogs... 35w 3000k DDM... bulb size on the BULB LIST says

Fog/Driving lights
Part number = 893#

https://www.thegalantcenter.org/showt...lb+size&page=3

but it also says... #Can substitute H880/892/899/885

so from DDM i plan on ordering 35W 3000K 880

I don't wanna have to return anything considering how slow their shipping tends to be.. lol.

Does anybody have any info I may be missing?
