I was averaging about 26 mpg before the use ethanol and putting on 2.5" wider tires on my G. Since then I have been getting about 21-22 mpg (yeah it sucks). Several weeks ago I finally got my CAI and have been averaging between 23-25 mpg. Does the CAI actually help mpg?

Not usually. It would more depend on your driving style and what types of driving you are doing. More freeways driving is going to get you better gas mileage than stop and go traffic. And for me, if I keep off WOT for entire tank of gas, I can get 20-30 miles more out of a full tank.

well it is more efficient so yeah theoretically it should help at least a little

i think i average about 28mpg now but was getting 33 before i started modding my car and they started adding ethanol but i think i was getting 26 before the cai so i would say it helps but i drive on the highway to and from work. like others said i think it would hurt if i just drove in town

funny you say that, i read an article awhile back when gas was real high. People who put cai on their cars tend to drive more aggresively because of the sound. lol just throwing that out there, if your driving habbits dont change there should be a difference.

haha funny you should say that.. when i first put it on i was confused as to why i was getting a lot worse gas mileage and then i realized i really was accelerating quicker etc just to hear it lol
