Finali the day came for me...

Today I am picking up that GTi 16V DOHC... AWD, AWS, 150HP, AC...
I think it's the happyest day of my life... It is 1990, it has 203.000 kilometers, but it is in unbelivable good condition. I am picking it up from 50 years old man, who really treated with it very well. He changed all 4 discs last year, the engine starts smoothly, ABS and AC is working fine, it has a few scratches outside, but I'll fix that. The main thing is that the "heart" - engine is in perfect condition for its age.

I'll post some pictures soon...

Congratulations/

I purchased my VR-4 1991 on December 31 th 2002 with 107000 km in very good condition for 2200 $.

This is a fantastic car/ but i think it eats too much (18l per 100 km)

(now i am sellilg my old red Galant 1989 (1800cc) petrol / LPG ).

Sorry for my poor english/

That GTi I told you I've found for me - it wasn't so good actually. So I've changed my mind and I am stayng faithful to my good old 2.0L SOHC AWD...

It would be very hard to let it go - my baby

i thought you already picked it up?

what was wrong with it?

1.) It had already 203.000km (that's around 130.000 miles) on it
My car now has 129.000km (thats around 80.000 miles) on it https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

2.) It had busted original exhaust (needed a change) https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif
On my car I instaled brand new exhaust (oval shape, middle loud -
angry) last summer (as you saw on my pictures)... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

3.) It had multiple scratches and rust spots on doors, both bumpers, hood,
and one big rusty spot next to left taillight...
On my car I don't have any scratches , there were two very little rusty
spots, but I fixed that three months ago...

4.) It had busted acumulator (batteryes), so we had to start it up with
cables.
I changed my batteryes one year ago, I also fixed my alternator a
month ago...

5.) Front right power window didn't work... :x
In my car - all four of them are working as new... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

6.) The insurance fee for 150HP (DOHC) car costs about 65% more than
110HP (SOHC) here in Slovenia. :?
Hmmm...

7.) But it steel had 150HP, air conditioning and All Wheel Steering... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif
My car has 110HP, no AC https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif , no AWS https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif , but I have AWD https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

8.).....

So, these are the reasons why I changed my mind and I think I made a smart move, rather than I'd make a mistake. That car needed some serious work which would probably cost as much as I'd have to pay for the car. By the way, the car had a price of "430.000 Slovenian Tolars" (that's about 2000$)...

So... I'm staying with my baby... It would be hard to let her go... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

yeah, u made a smart move man. you'll never enjoy the car, since ur first impression of it is just fixing it all the time. and when u finish fixing it, you wont enjoy it as much since all u remember is working on it.
