The Global Canvas Project a.k.a. Projecto Igarai is a collaboration of Jon D. Neumann and Isac Enriquez, natives to the south side of Chicago. Their dream was to create a conceptual space where underprivileged youth can come to, collaborate, express themselves, and generate a positive force as a group. Once established, these groups can advance their knowledge onto others and create spaces in more communities to continue this creative dialogue. Through these same ideologies of the Hip Hop Movement, these two artists are expanding their vision from the streets of the Chicago to the surrounding towns of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Igarai and Mococa will be the new venues for the youth to experience Hip Hop related workshops from graffiti techniques with aerosol, character design, coloring, collaborative murals and break dancing. To finalize the project, the Global Canvas team (Projecto Igarai) is advancing their dialogue of Hip Hop as a Collaborative, by creating an international art exchange between the teens of Chicago and Brazil.
All proceeds will benefit the project materials by giving each individual an “artist pack” supplied with essential components.
