****UPDATE #2.5****
HEY AGAIN! i realized i never uploaded the photoshoot that i was suppose to do for update 2. I've done a couple more shoots and here they are. You'll notice my window visors come on and off and that's because since they come off so easily i tend to only use them during rainy days and store them during sunny days. Anyways i hope you enjoy. (in case you're wondering, i did lower my car a little bit more since update 2)

alright guys. this was my first photo shoot. my friend finally got his "Work VS-XX" on and so he asked if i wanted to join his random photo shoot. since i wanted pictures of my car before i lower it on megans, i decided to do it. please don't bash about our amateur photo takes. it was just for fun...anyways since my megans are in backorder ill revive this thread in probably 2-3 weeks with my car lowered even more. as of right now they're on stechs. what it do?

oh and one more thing. most you guys probably noticed the "krew" sticker on my rear door. that was a bullet hole. HAHAHA..and no, not a fake bullet hole...a real bullet hole.

With coilovers you wont rub on 225's if you leave some negative camber in it. I have D2's with 235's 18X8 +35 offset and I dont rub up front with -2 degrees camber, the rear would have rubbed but I cut/folded the inner lip in the back. But 225's on a +38 offset wheel you wont rub on coilovers.

kalvinsaid
10-30-2009, 06:56 PM
i already maxed out the camber plates and i dont have camber kits. AHHA

Reelax
10-31-2009, 02:22 AM
you shouldn't rub w/ 225... i'm not rubbing and i'm sitting as low, if not lower than u on TEIN SS-P, 19x8.5 +48 235/35r19 AND camber corrected all the way around. i did however have to cut out the rear fenders to clear.

the rears cleared after i rolled my rear fenders. but i dont know about the fronts. even though you're saying it wont rub, it still does.

does it rub on the outside or inside... or is it only rubbing at full lock?

weird. you could try adding positive camber back in the front via the front upper mounts' camber plates... my wheels and tires are wider and i have a higher offset (meaning even less clearance to suspension) and i don't rub on the inside so the only thing i can think of is that by running full negative camber like you are, you are limiting the inside clearance allowing the tires or wheels to touch the well liner behind the wheels on steering lock... you should have ample room from the tires to the actual fender since you are running such narrow tires.

looks good bro, how often do you scrape?

too often, but i dont regret it. i dont drive like an asshole nor do i speed. my G is automatic so driving it isnt hard, you just have to be patient. I usually map out where im going. there are some plazas and parking infrastructures that have been blacklisted because the driveways and speedbumps are too much for my car.

i know it's hard to tell from my photos but im actually tucking about half of my tire in the rears and im tucking the treads in the front. then again i can't really tell from your sig how much your rears are sitting. anyways my tire wear is normal. none of them are wearing unevenly.

since you are on coilovers now, you can fine tune ride height and even out the stance by raising the rear slightly and lowering the front a little if you need to. look at the wheel gaps front and rear. it looks perfect when they are as close to the same as possible. this makes the car nose down slightly since the front wheel wells are bigger (so the front needs to be lower to be filled the same). also you will correct some of the negative rear camber if you raise the rear a little.

here is a profile pic of my car for reference. look at the gaps front to rear and how the car silghtly noses down (meaner looking).

see it looks good w/ the gaps even. when i was on regular lowering springs, my rear always appeared lower because of my audio system and i always hated that. when i upgraded to coilovers, it took the techs about 1/2 an hour to set the ride height where the gaps were as even as possible so they could align it at that setting. later when i adjusted it after the kit was put on (i raised it when the kit was first put on then lowered again since my front gap was HUGE in my eyes), it took about 1 hour (without a lift, just 1 jack) to do it, then i got it aligned again just to be sure it was all good.

Gives the car a more aggressive stance with a "rake".
