I just put Megan Racing headers and a magnaflow muffler in my 03' Galant GTZ. I just got the car from my Dad and was wondering if anyone knew of any good motor rebuilt kits for the the V6.

I want to bore it out or rebuilt to turbo it. I have 150,000 miles and want to do a strong motor build. Any other suggestions would be nice. I just coming up with ideas nothing set in stone yet.

Woooo GTZ shnaaazi...post some pix. Well look when your talking about building up your motor I just hope you understand the time and money it takes to get this done right?????? Not only that, you have to be able to understand and know what the hell your doing b/c if not many many things can go wrong and end up spending more money to fix what yiou did wrong. Soooo please please before you start going off doing something crazy, make sure you know what your getting into.

But wait why do you need a rebuild kit?????I just realized this. Is there something wrong with the motor??? Other than that you should be fine if your not doing anything crazy to the car.

doubt that. recalibrate ur butt dyno. all headers/downpipes we've had experience w/ over the years for this platform open up top end breathing at the expense of low end torque, effectively shifting the power curve up the rpm range. your top end should now be better but your low end pick up should be worse or almost the same as stock (marginal), just much louder. you will not see substatial gains until you complete the I/H/E package (and even then don't expect big numbers), but at least you have eliminated the most restrictive part of the system, the precat(s), w/ the headers.

I will put pics up tomorrow of my exhaust and headers! The only reason I wanted a rebuilt kit is because I wanted to turbo or supercharge the G, but was worried about putting boost on the motor with a lot of miles on it! But don't want to boost right now but my friend has a stratus r/t with headers in his and we have been working together to figure out a way to trick the computer to take away the check engine light. We think we found a way to do it by inovate. A wide band controller that you can program the voltage to the computer and are going to set the stock voltage off the o2 sensors and see if its going to work. But we will see I will keep everyone updated.

when i had a downpipe and test pipe, i simply left the rear 02 unplugged and hanging in the engine bay (there were no rear 02 bungs on my prototype down pipe)... CEL never went on so i never had to do a work around!

Thanks a lot man! This will help us out a lot. In NC we have to get our cars checked every year and we have a shop that will pass us all he wants is the check engine light off. Thanks again
