ok, the shop that did my suspension must have stripped 2 of my strut mount bolts as i know they used an impact gun.. i just got my strut bar 2day and went to install it got one side on and went to the other and noticed that 2 of the bolts were stripped 2 the point where i cant loosen them at all... any suggestions on how to get them off, will heating them work since there not necisarily gunked on they were only tightened a month ago by the shop ! but any other suggestions ???

Try penetrating oil or a product called PB Blaster, it should help get things loose. They aren't necessarily stripped as they just may be really hard to get off.

theyre def. stripped they are rounded out to a point and the socket turns around somewhat and doesnt allow to turn even if they were loose i will give pbblaster a shot i guess !

Its not a bolt, its a nut.

I have always had awesome luck with these:
http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2364506
Available at AutoZone or Advanced Auto or any respectable store that sells tools.

Its basically a socket that has teeth which grip onto the nut and remove it. Once you remove it, toss the stripped nut away and replace it with a new nut.

well thanks for the correction ... seriously !! the guy at auto zone showed me a package similar but was 25 bucks for the set this will be my second option if the vice grips dont work

did you get the replacement nut yet? i'd get that first before doing anything.

another thing you can do is if u have a file, file down the edges of the nut a lil bit and find a socket that you will make fit.

Go back to the shop and show them how they stripped it...they should help you take it off....
