I picked up a GS DOHC engine to replace my GS engine that died. I pulled the fuel rail on the new engine and noticed the fuel injectors tips are of different lengths. I pulled the injectors from my orignal engine and it's injector tips are also of different length. The funny thing is the two fuel rails do not match up, i.e., a long injector tip on one fuel rail (say cylinder #1) does not necessarily match up with a long tip on the other fuel rail (cylinder #1). Any idea what gives?

I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them down loaded. Thanks, jjj

I figured out why the fuel injector tips appeared to be different lengths. There is a thick rubber washer called an insulator that fits into the head and on the injector. When the fuel rail was pulled some of the insulators remained attached to the injectors and came out of the head.

Sorry could not shrink the pictures small enough to get them to post,

Stock injectors are either 240cc or 275cc. If they have blue tops then they are 275cc

All injectors have green tips so must be 240cc
