currently i have 20% tint all around on my 01 with tan leather, but with the interior being a light color, the tint just doesn't look as dark as it could. how dark of tint would be good to go with?? and has anyone gotten pulled over because their windows were too dark?

I like to have black vinyl all around!(except front windshield)
But every state has different laws about the tint. In here the limit is 25% for front sides windows, and no limit for rear windows.

I personally know several people that have gotten tickets for their windows being too dark, and there are MANY stories posted online by people that got tickets for their tints

dark tints makes it hard to drive at night...especially when backing up

ok i will most likely just keep the 20%...but maybe do something to the interior

but if you tints look lighter because of your tan interior that I think it works to your advantage to give the illusion that your tints are not that dark. With my black leather seats the tints does look a lot darker.

im running 15% and have no problem driving at night. but because of my cars color, the tint looks TOO dark for my taste.

legal limit on the front is 50% here, and i guess theyre really strict about enforcing it, so im going to play it safe and get the front redone, but it'll look like crap.

i really only think the only reason that you would get pulled over for tint is if you are doing something that is very noticable, like speeding or invalid plates, and then the cop would go on and mention something about your tint

if you cover your windows with black vinyl, you'll get 0% tint.

I would just tint the back windows and leave the two front not tinted or do the 35% tints all around. The reason why cops give out tickets to people with tints in front is because when being pulled over they want to be able to see you for their own safty just incase the person with the dark tint in the front has a gun and decides to shot the officer in the face.

a friend of mine put 2.5% on the passenger and driver side his 300zx, that lasted about a month. He had always complained about being able to see during the day, night he was forced to drive with the windows down.

I had 20 front 5 rear....1600 dollars later (shit you not)... I have 0 all the way around....If the cops where you live aren't dicks then darken the rear some and if you have a sun roof do that dark to... a visor in the windshield helps to...tint or vinyl
