if your going to be driving the car hard on the street, racing it, or in general if your making 50 of more whp than stock, an aftermarket transmission cooler is a good idea. I know a few of the 8g guys running auto and turbo's use them. Anything that has surface area of around 6"x8" or larger should do the trick. Keep in mind you dont want to go too big as the fluid might get too cool which could make for trouble.

Cool thanks for the responses

I got me a PWR cooler for a V8

It gets quite hot here in Australia so I have gone for a bigger size

Is there not a small one in the stock 8g radiator ?

there is a copper tube on the bottom row of the stock radiator that is supposed to be the transmission cooler + heater. With the added heat/stress from racing, this tube is not enough to cool off the transmission oil
