Hey guys, I might be getting Enkei RPF1 but I am wondering how wide and what offset to get. I MIGHT get brembo's so what offset do I need to clear brembo's and also can I get away with an 8" wide or maybe even a 8.5" wheel. I would like to get 18x8 with a 35 offset and run a 225/40/18

Thanks in advance!

18x8 +35 should probably clear it with no trouble. thats what my konigs are, they are close but they do clear and the spoke design is somewhat similar to the RPF1. I think you can get away with a 8.5" wide wheel but it doesnt make sense to run a wider wheel still with a skinny tire, there isnt much performance gain, unless your looking for that drift car super stretched tire look. I run 235's on my 8g and im close to rubbing up front, I may be able to squeeze a 245 but that would be it.

235 would be ideal but I would rather not do drastic modifications to my fenders.

i'm running 235's and haven't modified anything and i only rub at full lock

I dont rub on 235's I have about 2-3 degrees negative camber out back and the rear inner quarter panel lip is folded under/cut and about 2.5 degrees up front. I have an 8g tho

for reference, i'm running 19x8.5+48 w/ 235/35r19 dropped around 3". i didn't need to clear EVO BREMBO's so i didn't go w/ a lower offset (my wheels would never clear calipers that big w/o very thick spacers becasue of face/spoke design). i should also mention that my car is fully camber corrected front and rear w/ INGALLS at all four corners and it still does not rub ever; my front fenders are stock but the rear fenders are cut out. camber plays a HUGE part in fender clearance since you're pushing the top of the wheels/tires out... w/o camber correcting or even by adding negative camber, i could probably run even 25mm less offset than what is on my car currently (enabling BREMBO conversion and wheel poke). you may be able to run 18x8+35 w/ 225/40r18 if you don't camber correct w/ no fender mods or u might still need to roll/fold/cut ur rear fenders if dropped over 1.75"; if u do camber correct you will definately need to do some fender massaging in the rear. if you are planning on running BREMBOS that should be the first concern... test fit the wheel u are interest in, on an EVO if available to see if the wheel will clear the brakes, or else get very good measurments to make a cardboard template that you can use to check wheels with. after you know they will fit the brakes then you can deal w/ the fender clearance. camber correction does NOT affect brake clearance, so don't worry about that.

i just looked at the fitament chart for the wheel u want:

http://www.enkei.com/spec_charts/RPF1.pdf

in 18x(8-8.5) the offsets are limited...

18x8 is only available in +35mm for our bolt pattern (5x114.3)

this would be the set i reccomend if you don't want to mod your fenders (u might still have to).

in 18x8.5 you can get +40 or +30. +30 will definaltely need either negative camber or fold/rolling/cutting in the rear, or both. you will probably have siginificant poke in the front as well although w/ a 225/40r18 tire you might still be able to clear w/o rubbing. the +40 may or may not clear EVO BREMBO's (i'm leaning towards not fitting but u could get lucky) althgouh they should fit in the rear w/o a camber correct.

like i said your first concern should be front brake clearance since the rest will b academic if that requirement is not met. the rear brakes are not such a concern since, although they are much larger than stock, they do not present nearly as much of a clearance issue as the BIG front EVO calipers.

Only 18" evo wheel is the Evo X and those are nearly the same price (if not more) than RPF1's

Thank you guys for all the info...brembo's are not in my plans as of right now but I always thought it would be cool to have them, i might just stick with the 18x8.5 with the 40 offset, or maybe just do 7.5" width and play it safe. Once again thank you for the info! I will post pictures if when i purchase them!

evo x wheels are HOTT

from mitsucars.com:

EVO X GSR

18" x 8.5" Enkei® alloy wheels with 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN® tires

EVO X MR (and MR TOURING)

18" x 8.5" BBS® Forged Alloy Wheels with 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN® tires

i believe they are all +35mm offset and you will have to get new tires (225/40r18 or 235/40r18) to fit them under our fenders 245/40r18 is too wide to clear stock fenders.

either silver or SBC. black will make ur car too black.

hyper black or gunmetal would look good though.
