Euro style tailights [Archive]

hey guys wuts up? im basically new here, even tho i've been snooping around for a couple of months. i've gotten a lot of great suggestions for my 7g galant from this site too. my question is, does anybody know where i can get euro style taillights for my galant? r they even made does nebody know? thanks......

The answer is NO, they dont make Altezza Style lights if that is your question,...they do make JDM lights which are basically 94-96 lights but the bottoms are white like the 97-98 tailights, they have to be imported from Japan too, so basically for most people this isnt realistic....hope it helps

I think we had a post on this on the old old old TGC.... basically for a company to break even on making the mold and selling the alltezzas they would have to sell about 160 pairs and i doubt there are 160 Galant modders of any certain generation or tailight style (94-96, 97-98, 99-present)

This post was on the old old board, but i cant link to it!...I like the supra lights even if everyone thinks they are played out, not altezza, i never liked them, a little too tacky for my taste

i think making a mold for the galant would be a good idea, but like aubdogg said, it take to many to even break even. I was just tryin to find something to do to my galant to spice it up in the rear. in my opinion, the stock tailights r just a little bland

People have done some creative mods, such as painting over them, putting vinyl cutouts, tinting their lights etc...

Whenever I think about it I remember Maz's (at least I think it was Mazarin) old post of this GIF that said... Is that the price u got from Vr6, cause that was the price he was selling them used, im sure there are all sorts of cool dutys and taxes and port fees that u have to pay, it better to just go there and bring em back yourself, hey its a good excuse for a vacation...lol

The JDM tails are pretty much the 94-96 style with a 97-98 look. all yu need is the middle part thats connected to the trunk. you can get the 2 corners from a junkyard or something. you dont have to import the whole thing from japan. just the middle like i said.

Good idea, I had it about 5 months ago.
The truth is (since I have looked into it extensively) that they will not match. Ok, I have a 98 right... If I went and bought that middle piece from a scrapyard and tried to don it on my trunk it would look wack and there is no way to mount it flush.
If I bought the entire trunk lid it would fit... but stilll look wack. Becaues the lens colors don't match.

I have tried and tried to find a way but it seems that the JDM ones are the way 2 go! I'll photoshop it so people can get a visual of what I mean.

well, that might not be entirely true, cuz my taillights look a different color at different angles, so it may be the angle of the pic, now i pulled up next to a 97 and the lights were the same color red, so therefore u MIGHT be wrong, not saying u are. For the 94/96 those tails will fit perfectly, but u might have to do a little re-wiring as always

well obviously the middle piece isnt gonna fit onto your 98 cause you have nowhere to put it. unless u mount brackets and hang it like a picture frame. :shock: you'll be dumb to do that. haha of course you wouldhave to get a 94-96 trunk lid and work from there. have fun guys.

I am new here, i mean the club, but i have been coming to the club to see the forum. Anyways i have exchange student from Japan in my class and he owns a 93 galant in Japan, which is just like ours here 94-96, he says he might find tail lights from Japan and send it to me for $300 or less. It seems like a good idea.
