reelax do you have a picture of your bulb?
is the base of it just really thick? or how does the clip hold it?

no pics but the bases of my bulbs are pretty thick plastic and they are held in very securely by the clips... all MCCULLOCK.

I have 3 hids kit on my car, and i have NEVER seen that on any of mine...Cut it off or leave it some slack. The clips will hold the bulb and and secure. Most hids kits are BULB--And then that Rubber Grommet nothing in between like what you posted.

the clips dont hold it though because the base of the bulb is too thin.

i stared at the pics.... i understand what it is. it's supposed to be an adapter to H7 for generic bulbs. send it back because even if you get it to work, the bulb will not be secure (it can slip out of that square adapter thing). you want bulbs like this where the base and bulb are 1 piece:

DDM kits come with those clips. I have the same kit and I had to trim mine. I'll go take a cell pic when I take a smoke break from work.

The bulb gets pressed into the adapter, and it is tight and doesn't move when installed. Like OP said, the bulb base from DDM itself is too small, and the retaining clip in JDM heads won't hold them down properly.

To get them to fit, you only need to trim one corner of the clip. That one corner needs to be trimmed because the way the retaining clip is shaped, it won't bend down far enough to be secured.

The picture of the clip shows how it goes into the headlight, the top in the pic is the top when inserted into the headlight.

I've had my HIDs installed like this for almost 20K miles, daily driven, and I haven't had one problem with them.

Thank you polish mafia! i will try to trim them today.

wierd you only had to trim one side, it appears all 4 corners need to be trimmed for mine to fit but ill look at it later.

When I got my kit, I got frustrated that I couldn't get them in. After about 5 minutes I took out the headlight, lined everything up, and realized I just had to cut that corner.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

wow. wonder why they made it this way? all my kits simply clipped in to the housing w/ no extra piece.

Uh, no...? I have DDMs.

Not sure. The set I bought for my USDM heads 3 years ago plugged right in with no problems. Then I got this set for my JDM heads from DDM, and they came with that clip. It must be for some manufacturer, but definitely not Mitsu. *shrug*
